I think only theSun carried this piece about Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Mohamed Shafie Apdal saying that they’re looking into bringing in Metro AG and (gasp!) Wal-Mart!

Najib, tolls, and ‘burden sharing’: government ‘lightens our load’ by contributing…. our money!!

DPM DS Najib says toll hike = sharing the burden. As in, rakyat pays more toll, while the government also pays a bit.

Yes, very much like sharing. Except… sorry, where does the government’s money come from again? Ah yes, us.

Update Saturday, 1pm: the lovely Li Tsin’s article was published yesterday. Note the fact that in one (I believe first of four) round(s) of demolitions, the authorities put up a notice saying villagers needed to evacuate within 14 days, but actually started demolitions half an hour after putting up the notice :| kejamnya…

Kampung Berembang updates: a statement by JERIT on bangkit.net tells us that the combined forces of (electricity cutting) TNB, the cops and four MPAJ trucks couldn’t remove the Kampung Berembang residents from the last of 60 odd structures – a lone surau.
