So, Rais “Facebook and Twitter will destroy Malaysian culture” Yatim recently issued threats to bloggers who were writing in contempt of court or infringing on the subjudice rule.
As I understand it, the subjudice ruling is one where no one is supposed to make an undue attempt to improperly influence the outcome of a trial.
Of course, this applies more to trials that are decided by jury. I should hope that judges are less susceptible to ‘public influence’ (other influence? Well, I don’t know what’s correct or not correct :P )
Then again, I’m no lawyer, and I can’t quote you any authorities etc, on this matter.
If you can however, I’d love to hear it :) How can someone like Nat legally cover his bases? Can anyone provide a brief but accurate “Subjudice for Dummies?” :)

We can express all our understandings of fairness. We can hope for changes. None can stop us from that. But, we must also understand the realities that we live in at the moment with our political climate. Its nothing unusual to see all these contradictions. Its very usual. Its nothing new. We needn’e invent the wheel. It has been already invented. We have seen the lessons come from history of those who oppressed and suppressed. A leader whose example is always very fresh in my mind is the late Nicolae Caecescu of Romania. He met his bitter fate. He reped that he sowd. We have heard of Saddam, Idi Amin, Hitler, and so on. They never left the world with a good name. They still are remembered for their wickedness. We live our life to leave behind some good for others to learn from. Sometimes we need these despotic leaders to repeat the lessons coz we tend to forget easily.
