Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin defended the controversial Biro Tata Negara (BTN) courses today as a form of nationalism in line with the 1 Malaysia concept despite growing criticisms of racism and political indoctrination.
The deputy prime minister denied that the courses, which are compulsory for civil servants and public university undergraduates, are aimed at “converting” participants to the political ideology of Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
I’ve heard *so* many BTN horror stories, it’s not even funny.

Seri Setia state lawmaker Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, speaking from his own experience, said they were told that PKR members were Jewish agents, that DAP was a Singapore party, while PAS was labelled a deviant movement.
Batu Caves lawmaker Amirudin Shari said a big part of the programme had nothing to do with nation building or education but was an Umno and BN race-based programme where participants are indoctrinated with propaganda about “Ketuanan Melayu”.
I consider BTN one of the most shameless institutions of BN’s unholy rule – and that’s saying a lot.
I’ve heard stories of hate-mongering, sowing divisiveness and spite, preaching supremacist mumbo jumbo, and so on.
Even Idris Jala – the new minister assigned to make this 1Malaysia stuff a reality – came out strongly against it, a man willing to call a spade a spade. I wonder if he will meet the same fate as Zaid Ibrahim.
Idris, not being a man steeped in politics, saw a problem, and he set out to fix it, in line with ideals espoused (albeit clearly not practised) by his boss.
Muhyiddin, on the other hand, the consumate politician, seemed perfectly willing to tell exactly the kind of baldfaced lies that they spew in BTN sessions.

I went to BTN course myself in 2005.It is said that all civil servant must attend these course in order to upgrade their grade of service.I went to one of the camp in JOHOR.
On our first day the lecturers and instructers told us that we must just seat and listen to the lectures and no questioned allowed.
In one of the session, The Arshole who conduct the ceramah is an army intilegent.He was talking in the manner of creating hatred among the races and not unity.
He said the May 13 incident is cause by DAP.It seems that after won the majority seat in the election the DAP had a rally in Kampung Baru and threatening the Malays by saying that Malaysia now belongs to chinese.That there are 30000 mallays in Kampung Baru at that time and they get angry and started the riot.Which we know a bullshit.That red lips Altantuya assfuckers dad and the Former Selangor Menteri Besar who wag MARA money and went to prison are the masterminds of the incident.
They said that PAS cannot form a Federal Goverment even if they win. It seems PAS only contest 69 seats and how they can form Federal Goverment?That the Malays should connsider this when cast their vote.

That The Indian and chinese must appriciate the UMNO for letting them stay in this country after indipendent not chase them out. Most of the lectures are brainwashing sessions creating hatred towards the Opposition parties.And also said the Anwar was an ISRAEL agent that is why he were sent to Jail by Mammukuty Mahaitai Firhaun Regime using his tainted Judges and kangroo court.
Even they said no questions allowed, But i insisted for one question.They allowed . I said to that asshole who lectures that if UMNO will also cannot form Federal Goverment if they contest all the Parliment seat wiyhout the help of component Party.
And i said everyone expecialy PAS knows that they Cannot form a Federal Goverment without combining with othe political Party.I told him PAS leaders are not stupid like he said.I just walk out of the hall after that. My friend told me that they will fail me in the exam which we must sit on the last day of the course.
But on the early morning of the day the person who incharge for the morning prayers for the Muslims did say about the questions which going to be in the exam to the participant in the “Surau”.My Malay friend told me the questions in our room befere we sit for the exam. Well he is right. The exact questions came out.
Few months later a get My cert From The BTN. I passed the exa.and Upgraded. Thanks GOD for saving me.
l am one who attendend this so called BTN courses during my younger days.At first it look ok but on the later stage it started taking a ketuanan melayu/islam stage.he told me the malays are the real bumiputra of this country.It is nothing wrong with this as other counhtries also practise this policy.
One partcipent from east malaysia argue that they could not enjoy Bumiputra status like the malay.His friend could not get AP.despite be bumiputra.There were ChristiansThe instructor told them they have to convert to MUSLIM to enjoy equal rights like th malays.It look like Raja Brooke has misled THEM to become christians.
Today when i think about this i thought this natives has lost the PM post/CM post and their wealth to UMNO cronies.

Oh my God! I have heard that the BTN programme is nothing but a rascist ketuanan Melayu indoctrination. Now, hearing from Malaysians who actually attended past BTN programmes, it is shockingly repulsive and disgusting to know that the UNMO government need to stoop to such low-down covert brain-washing to maintain their power.
Please Malaysians – those who had attended – please speak out now, especially those of the Malay race – if you also feel bad about such indoctrination, speak out now! Only with one united voice, not only the non-Malay, non-Muslim voice can we march forward as Malaysians to kick out these UMNOputra jerks who are so greed for power that they would resort to and condone such practices. I know someone who attended this course b4 going into diplomatic service. She was so traumatized that she decided to pack her bags and her family to move them away from here. When we asked her why she just said that we should thread carefully and try and leave this place. Yea if you have the money and means u can, if you dont how?
We can make a difference in the next GE, however Nat, can you for sure tell me the PR will get their act together and works towards a unity Malaysia instead of all these back-bitting and problem infested situation we rakyat have to face? How can we vote for PR when they are not ONE..how la? We so much want to change…

if not because of 8th March 2008, we will not hear of this BTN issue. You must know this issue was happen since 2005 and today. Because of this i believe why UMNO & BN lost their majority in 2008.
However, they still never learn from their mistake! This is the what the book call “the secret” told us. Nevermind let allow them to continue and believe next GE they will lost everything. I’ve been to one of these BTN course a few years ago. True, the contents of the course is mainly on ketuanan Melayu, regardless of them having non-Malays in the same course. How insensitive… The Chinese and Indians are repeatedly labelled as traitors beginning from the Malacca Sultanate era until the 13th May incidence.
But to people like me, these things are just like ‘angin lalu’…. I didnt really listen or pay any attention to what they were saying or playing on the LCD. What mattered to me then was that I complete this course and continue my duty as a civil servant. I even slept during the kuliah subuh session, which was not really a kuliah, but only a video show on independence. boring…
One of the theme songs in the course is the ‘anak kecil main api’ song. To me, the song is so pathetic, it’s for those people who has lost hope and blaming others for their loss. Maybe they should think about changing the lyrics because I do enjoy the melody though…
However, what truly concerned me though, is the fact that many of our friends out there, who are government servants, are still not aware of what’s going on around them. They seemed to assimilate whatever is it that was spooned to them. The ‘trick’ these BTN people did were just like one of those ‘as-seen-on-TV’ ads. They kept repeating the same thing over and over again in the whole course until the participants were some sort like hypnotized and finally at the end of the course everybody concurred with whatever message they were trying to convey. It was scary, seriously…
By the end of the day, what we got from the course were, we can never trust the Chinese and Indians; ‘bangsa’ is more supreme than ‘agama’; Malaysia is an ‘Islamic country’; DSAI is an agent of IMF/Jews; PAS can never rule the country; and the list goes on and on. You go figure lah…
Since you all have attended the course, why no one complaint? further this course already been in since few years ago? If we continue let this happen, our future will become a big problem. Look at now, what happen to us? seem like 2012 really happen soon!
