I was talking to Tricia Yeoh (whose moving personal account re: Teoh Beng Hock touched me personally as a former employee in the same industry they were both in) who pointed out a huge conjob which I now see is appearing throughout the blogosphere.
The Royal Commission announced is NOT to investigate Teoh’s death!!
It’s scope will be limited to the interrogation methods used by the MACC.
Teoh’s death will only be the subject of an inquest headed by a magistrate, which as Jeff pointed out, is but a low ranking officer of the world famous Malaysian Judiciary (incidentally still tainted despite the last Royal Commission).
So, this is the best “justice” that Najib has to offer to Teoh’s family, his fiancee, and his unborn child??
Even in the face of such public outrage, he will not even concede to such a simple request?
Why deny the call to have a Royal Commission to investigate Teoh’s death?
To show “loyalty” to your gloved (and bloodied) hands? As a reward to how the MACC bought you Perak? Protecting “Malay institutions?” Cannot give face to Pakatan?
The rakyat should DEMAND an explanation as to why Teoh’s death does not deserve more than an inquest by a discredited institution.
And come onlah, can a Royal Commission on “MACC interrogation tactics” come up with anything useful or pertinent?
It looks incredibly cosmetic, with a script full of completely inane and irrelevant findings all set out already.
The underhanded manner in which Najib and his unholy gang are trying to pull off this conjob of announcing a Royal Commission (which they hope no one will notice is the wrong one) is particularly despicable.
Call them on it! Let this insiduousness not go unpunished!

My gut feeling is that after they decide on this, they must be giggling among themself about what fools Malaysians are. Never mindlah, later Malaysians will forget like in SO MANY other incidents. After all if I do or don’t do, what are you all gonna do about it. As arrogant as ever again.

What a big joke for the eclipse day royal commision my foot , can u imagine someone is dead and nobody is arrested , if its involving a civilian by now many suspects would have been hauled.I can still remember back in the 80,s i wiil get pickup by cops for no reason because we were teens back then and jobless and we lepak a lot. I prove to them by becoming a law abiding citizen . Its double standard , even in a factory or any premise if there is a theft or robbery many suspects will be apprehanded but in Teoh case the murderer is out there free , what stupid , bias , double standard country we are living in, and as usual malaysian mudah LUPA

The foreign forensic-pathologist to be engaged by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunan. However, she required one day notice before she can fly into KLIA.
But Teoh’s parents do not want to prolonged his funeral and we must respect that. Khunying Pornthip is one ‘kick-ass’ lady and she can make the dead talk to her. We just misssed the help of this remarkable lady.

Nat, please ask the PR leader if they can still secure the help of Dr Pornthip as an independent forensic pathalogist expert.
It doesn’t matter if Dr Porntip can’t perform an autopsy on Teoh’s body but she can still give her opinions based on pictures taken and visit the crime scene. Dr Pornthip may also collaborate with Dr Prasand as he was at the crime scene and I believe Dr Prasand was involve in Teoh’s autopsy.
Otherwise we may never seek the JUSTICE for Teoh. Believe me.

AS we all know, the so called Royal Commission is nothing but mere entertainment arranged by the BN to buy time and to quell public hatred for them, after some time with the help of the spin masters in the mainstream media, they will be back to doing what they do best that is to continue to con us with this 1 Malaysia crap. So lets start by getting all those who are 21 and above to move their lazy asses and get themselves registered as voters. Please do not wait for more dead bodies for us to effect change. If the Philipinos, Indonesians, Thais and South Africans could do it, then we Malaysia can do it also.

If the PM and the Cabinet members have their own conscience and sincerity , please get the RCI to find the real reasons and cause of Teoh’s death.The rakyat would not accept anything less.
Why not home into how and who cause him to die ? Why relegate Teoh’s death to an Inquest headed by a majistrate ?

By having both the inquest and Royal Commission is a bureaucratic way of obscuring the truth, as malaysians will be fed an information overload from the case, and the overlapping of both investigations would also blur the details between them. People might end up tuning out altogether…. which is what they want.
I am also upset to read how some people are being fooled by the government’s machinery and sweet talk, including dear pm’s promise to personally update the family (I’m angry and disgusted)., The recent Merdeka poll shows that people are already buying into the sheep-skinned show of sincerity, while the real truth remains hidden. I have also heard of people even defending the MACC, because it is an anti-corruption agency.
It appears to be a losing battle, as the gov accuses people like us for politicising the whole matter, and more people seem to shut off from politiics, perhaps because of they can’t bear to know the truth about how terrible the actual state of affairs are. This selective blindness is especially worrying and disturbing.
