400 cases since February 2009??? Come on, get real!! There are 365 days in a year. You are plucking numbers out of thin air!!! In any scientific argument, there must be proof and witness. These are all heresay. Granted nobody wants a mine at their backyard but these people are living ex mining land!!

<strong>nat: all opinions welcome, but it is incumbent on me to state that this commenter wrote from the same IP as "The Other Miller"</strong>

Reading the argument, I can sense the writer already made up his mind regarding the issue. The writer is so vehemently against Cyanide and against the Minister that he closed his eyes to facts that he himself presented which are:

"the results of laboratory analysis of water samples collected by State Local Government, Environment and Health Committee on 25 May 2009 at the tailing pond detected 0.03mg/L cyanide, which is well above the Recommended Permissible level of below 0.2ppm (Part Per Million) held by the U.S. Environment Protection Agency.
Presence of cyanide-like odour in the atmosphere was sustained and evident;"

1. The writer basically admitted that the cyanide level is very low. Much lower than the permissible cyanide level allowed by US Environmental Protection Agency.

2. "Presence of cyanide-like smell"??? What scientific conclusion is this? How does cyanide smell? It is actually "close" to odourless!!! Some people say that it is like apricot but which Malaysian can tell how apricot smells??

can u please snd me full citation for the quote taken from

Admission Document submitted to London Stock Exchange by Peninsular Gold Ltd (the parent company of RAGM) dated 17 June 2005, that cyanide detoxification MAY NOT be required for its operation in Malaysia particularly at the Bukit Koman site. To quote directly from the document, section 8.4.3.12 reads,

“…informed by Peninsular that cyanide destruction is not required by either the local authority, or the lender. Provision has been made in the capital cost for a detoxification plant, although its operating cost has not been included as it may not be required”.

(Imprima de Bussy, 2005)

since i cant find it..

and any other refferences for any fact taken if any.. plase email me..i really like to know more

Well, since MP Ng is so convinced that Cyanide is harmless, why not sent 1,500 kg of cyanide each day for storage in the water catchement areas supplying water to KL?

Accursed be the greedy ones whose extravagant lifestyles are more precious than the lives of the powerless. Before we declare war on poverty, we have to battle the greedy ones in Umno/BN (and whoever attempts to enrich themselves by impoverishing and endangering others!)
