Abdullah and Najib leave palace quietly, Bernama information & Chief Secretary still suspect (updated 12.30pm)

Update: So Najib also came and went, and?….. “smiled and waved to reporters.” Also, “It’s a matter for Tuanku,” Bernama reported Abdullah as saying. Vague, vague, vague… Aaargh!

Aaargh! The suspense!

Abdullah left the palace this morning without speaking to the press.

What does that mean??

No idea.

The mainstream press, on the other hand, still seems to be working overtime in insisting that Najib will be sworn in tomorrow.

We remain hopeful that DYMM YDP Agong remains above such manipulations and upholds the finest traditions of a compassionate and learned monarch.

Hopefully, we will be saved from rule by repression.

Meanwhile, this strange controversy surrounding the Chief Secretary remains. Observe this (now un-retracted?) piece in Bernama:

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin has given his consent for Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to be sworn in as prime minister at 10am on Friday, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan said.

In a statement issued here Wednesday night, he said Tuanku Mizan had also consented to grant an audience to Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib at 10am tomorrow for Abdullah to relinquish the post and seek consent to appoint Najib as the new prime minister.

Tuanku Mizan gave his consent at an audience with Abdullah before the cabinet meeting this morning.

The King had given his consent for Najib to be presented his letter of appointment as prime minister and to take his oath of office, loyalty and confidentiality at Istana Negara at 10am on Friday, the statement said.

?! Did Abdullah really have an audience with Tuanku before the Cabinet meeting yesterday?

If this turns out in any way to be a fabrication, that should be the end of Sidek Hassan’s career.

He did say a few word like terpulang kepada Agong or something like that.

But now at 11.20, Najib has entered the palace, things look pretty airtight now, but the fumbling of Sidek et al will be at a cost

  • the laws of the country are meant for peoplelike you and me.not for sidek for sure.look at khir toyol.macc buat don’t know.macc should handcuff khir and charge him in court.the country is going to dogs but the leaders are going about doing their normal business

I hope the DYMM YDP Agong will take his time to think about it and come out with the answer after the 3 By-election so as to gauge the people sentiment on Najib regime

I wonder when you and all of the Pakatan team realise, when you guys will ever get it trhough your thick heads, Royalty in Malaysia will ALWAYS side with Barisan Najis.

All of your actions and strategies should always ALWAYS presuppose that the Royalty will act in Barisan Najis favour lah.

Pls wake up and smell the roses.

  • Batu Ferringhi

Nothing will happen to Sidek. Same thing, nothing will happen to Khir Toyo for splurging RM1.7 million of the people’s money on Disneyland tours…. what will actually happen is 2/3 of Malaysians will find it tough to put food on the table over the next 2 years… That is why I am helping out in Bukit Gantang.

  • For My Family

Well, look at it this way, if Najib be PM he will only be PM for 3 years cos when the next GE comes along, BN will be booted out.

  • Let us not hang on to a straw and expect a miracle to happen, it will be simply day dreaming…this is TDM’s UMNO baru…the royalties have their wings clipped, they will obediently follow the directives from the ‘king of kings’ (UMNO).

I full agree with sunwayopal, “wake up and smell the roses”.

Close down the blooming MACC and sack that Ahmad Said if he doesn’t know what his job is and where his priority lays!

Save tax-payers money and outsource PriceWatergouse or KPMG or Erns & Young to carry out audit and investigations! All reports to be tabled at Parliament.

Awww…come on,wake up everyone. What is the king going to do about it? Nothing can and wouldbe done. Only a miracle could save us and the country, don’t rely on the monarchs. Najib will be the new PM, nuff said. Oppression, police brutallity and corruption will contnue, business as usual.

It’s a sad and dark moment in Malaysian history.

  • PARAQUAT

I really salute your optimism in your view that there’s a chance Najib won’t be the next PM. Currently, I do not have the confidence in our country to do what’s right.

It is truly suprising that common folks like you and me are the only ones concern about Malaysia’s reputation.
Do our Barisan components leaders feel proud and feel that it is right to have a PM who has so much uncleared baggage and who does not command a high integrity to represent you??

Can you imagine if Obama has unanswered and uncleared accusations of corruptions and murder and is still elected as President, would he still commands the respects from other World Leaders not forgetting his countrymen and women?

Imagine that your country is known to the world for a “tainted” PM rather than as a country with a truly respected world leader….. (sigh)

With the sultan perak case, i dont think Agong will do anything. Najib will be sworn in tomorrow for sure… god bless malaysia.

I am so glad the monarch is taking his time to decide the appointment of Najis. The Monarch have to put the BeeEnd in their place coz they have derhaka to The Agong by instructing the lap dog Chief Sec to sent SMS to all the other lap dogs Minister, MP etc. I pray that the Agong will listen to the request of the rakyat. I know he doen’t want his subject to suffer under the leadership oft his tainted PM right. May God Enlighten the King to do what is right for once to all Malaysians.

  • There are still many who take it easy, believing that we can wait for three more years to boot Najib out in the next GE. As if Altantuya scandal is not enough to say about this man, the Perak crisis and the ensuing assaults on democracy and Constitution is the final act to tell us what is to come with this man. Malaysia may not see the day of next GE, or the Opposition (many of their leaders) may not see the day of next GE. That is the issue at stake here.

    LET’S PRAY HARD!

Abdullah will forever to be remembered as the PM who pass malaysia future into the demon’s hand.

get prepared to live in hell, guys & gals.

Come on lah, let’s admit the fact that najib will become our new PM. That’s going to be a reality and nothing can be done.

Let’s hope for the best for the nation.

  • exodus

What is the different whether Najib sworn in tomolo or next month? Any how, he will be our PM whether u like it or not. Malaysia will be doomed. And I m going to migrate. That is.

I an inclied to think that the Government is using RAKYTA’S TAX MONEY TO PAY MACC AND THE WHOLE LOT OF SUPPOSEDLY ENFORCEMENT PPL TO PUNISH THE OPPOSITION.

Otherwise, why is Khir Toyo not being held up for questioning and investigated when all PROOFS ARE available………………They are soooooooooooo sick!

  • Chris Yong

    correction: “inclined”

  • IF MACC WANT TO PROVE THEY ARE ON THE JUSTICE SIDE THEY SHOULD ARREST KHIR TOYO SO CALL THE MALAYSIA TOYOL (THE GREEN MAN)
JUSTICE MUST BE DONE IF YOU WANT MALAYSIAN TO RESPECT YOU FURTHER MORE THE EVIDENCE IS THERE!!!!!!!!

  • Ex Neutral

To Batu Ferringi, I was in Bkt Gantang and will be there again to help out where ever I can. People, we hope not for grouses only, we hope for more common people to step out and be counted. Again to think that you will give your vote to PR will not be enough anymore. Wait another 3 years the country coffers will be as dry as the desert. Some may ask how much can I do, but I’m only sure that it will all adds up. For the children and country sake, do it. Do whatever little help you can for your beloved country.

  • rider

I agree with Pratamad. Let’s pray hard.

Thy Will be done, O’ Lord, In your Hands we leave our destiny as a nation. Amen.
