Water Scandal: Summarising BN’s massive conjob (or: how you are making the super rich Rozali Ismail *even* richer)
Here’s how I would distill the decidedly murky waters surrounding the Selangor water scandal.
If I were the Selangor government, I would hammer these points and these points alone (or maybe even whittle it down even more). The facts are gleamed from a (slightly over wordy) brochure produced by the Selangor State Government.
To recap, the Selangor government is seeking to reacquire previously privatised water concessionaire companies. The Federal Government is offering to do the same, but at a much, much higher price, and under a different set of circumstances.
The long and short of it, if you believe us, is that BN is looking to spend hundreds of millions more of our money in a plan that will only further enrich cronies at the expense of the rakyat. Here’s how:
1 . Under the federal plan:
- there will be a 31% INCREASE in water tariffs, as opposed to a 25% decrease in tariffs under the Selangor plan.
- the Federal Government (ie, us) will take on RM 6.4 billion of debt, currently owed by the water concessionaires.
- there will no longer be 20 cubic meters of free water every month.
2. Here’s what privatised water concessionaire companies like Syabas have been up to:
- Syabas CEO Rozali Ismail’s salary is a whooping RM 5.1 million a year (RM 425,000 a month).
- Pipe purchases worth RM 600 million were made from an Indonesian company, also owned by Rozali Ismail.
- No open tenders for RM 600 million worth of contracts (over 72% of the total awarded).
- RM 51.2 million spent on renovations of the Syabas head office (JKAS, the water regulatory body for Selangor approved expenditures of only RM 23.2 million)
- Between 2005 – 2007, Syabas exceeded its contract value limit by RM 200 million.
The brochure contains much, much more information and numbers, but I think the above says enough.
Clearly, some enormously fat cat cronies are getting paid off like there was no tomorrow – all this at the expense of a rakyat that is suffering and having their backs broken by an economic crisis of epic proportions.
Again, I really think Selangor and Pakatan should focus on this information, put it in a common package, and reiterate it again, again and again via every single medium (including say, billboards) at its disposal.
I’ve likened it before to a number of submarine commission scandals happening right under our noses, only this time, we still have the chance to stop it, if only we work hard enough.

The worst illustration of greed: take home an exorbitant salary of RM5.1 million a year, and still wanted to ’steal’ with the RM600 million pipe supply contract to the company he owns. Rozali Ismail, your time will come…
Aiyoo Nath is it real story. Damn it. Rm 425,000 per month salary i.e RM 1416 per day. Whooowe a lot of money pa. What is the PM salary? I am sure the water might be free also for En Rozali Ismail.

He is only the proxy. Check back when the privatisation started and you would know which MB was behind it. Same as in other states like Johor.
Hope the respective state governments take back the control of water for the Rakyat’s sake.

Why worry about the millions you cannot take away ?
Ill gotten gains will not last nor will it be cherished by those that will inherit it. just give your children a good education that will be sufficient to see them through a good and descent life.
A few millions, at best and most, will see you and your family through life very comfortably-believe me Rozali and all the corrupted ones, do not be too greedy.
Just remember greed comes before the fall ! So do not let that happens to you or your family !!!

Oh My. Don’t these people feel bad in the name of religion? Every rakyat is supposed to have a religion , yes or no? Perhaps praying to become rich is their religion. Have sympathy for the rakyat? No such phase in their dictionary! They want heaven now, in this world. Hell? (to them) No such thing!
Yet there are hundreds of thousands still supporting the demons’ party!

When The then MB(Mat Taib) presented to the Exco that he wanted to privatise the Selangor Water Supply to “PNSB”, no one objected because they all thought that it was the State-owned company. It was only later that it was revealed that it was actually “Puncak Niaga Sdn. Bhd.” and not Perbadanan Negeri Selangor Bhd.
Rozali Ismail was then the treasurer of the Batang Kali Umno Division of which Mat Taib was the Chairman.
I had a free weekend and decide to go to the movie and I watch ‘INTERNATIONAL’.
here another rumour that I think might be true. I was in Tg. malim a couple of months ago and some of the locals told me that Pak lah has been there with some of his engineers. Rumour has it that a multi billion water project has been planned and will supply water to Selangor. I guess thats why perak fell and why selangor will not get to control it’s water…. anyway, it’s a rumour.
Why so harsh to this Rozali?? They are worst and amy times more corrupted out there. The solution to these thieves is to hang them by the balls and let the red ants have their day.
UMNO and its cronies and its side kicks MIC and MCA along with Gerakan and what not assemblage of political sycophants – have really mastered the COPPERFIELD art of whistling public funds under the guise of NEP and Ketuanaan Melayu whilst the ordinary Malay exceeding 70% of the population still languishes below thw poverty line and remains permanent victims of Ah Long and their cohortswho direct and control the Security forces of the Country.
Such audacious and daring blatant acts of swindling the country and its people by those who pray 5 times a day amzes me. Can I sing AMAZXING GRACE now for the already dead and dying.
