Najib’s wide and viscious clampdown – We’re not taking it lying down, will the rest of Umno? (updated: Police try to scare public from Perak ceramah)

Update: Yet another shot of repression fired. Naked police complicity in Perak, how much did they get paid?? (plus, sounds like the cop has got some royal blood).

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim’s ceramah tonight in Taiping, Perak has been declared as illegal by the police.

As such the police have warned the public not to participate in the political talk.

Taiping district police chief Raja Musa Raja Razak was reported in Bernama today as saying that the venue was not suitable to hold a ceramah as it was located near the main road.

“Police will take stern action against those who stage or participate in the assembly,” he said.

Original post:

It’s kinda strange for Najib to take such a front and center role in the Ali Rustam controversy.

On the one hand, he could be trying to show his strength, but on the other, is that wise, seeing that he hasn’t quite crossed the finish line yet?

Throwing your weight around is a bit more iffy if that weight has only been promised, and not quite delivered. If I were some of the aggrieved parties of late (Norza, Azalina, Ali Rustam, plus all their allies), I’d be plotting quite seriously against Najib, whose position may not *quite* be as assured as he and his may like to think.

This clampdown and persecution seems quite all around. We see the action against Karpal and son, we see the charges laid against internet commentators, and of course all this selective targetting of Umno personages with a particular political slant.

Each of these stink of selective targetting, and abuse of very badly worded laws that allow for a very wide latitude of harassment (the internet law used makes it illegal to write anything “”disturbing”" :| ). Even the Umno disciplinary board is deluding itself if it thinks anyone with half a brain will see their actions as anything but superbly biased and inconsistent.

There is also some interesting legal questions Ku Li brings up, about the technical inability of the disciplinary board to bar Ali Rustam from contesting. On the flip side, we must also demand an answer as to why the MACC and police are not acting on these corruption findings. I think someone said “No report mah, cannot act,” which of course is complete, utter bullshit – think of the bulls and cars involved with the Selangor MB.

If this is what Najib is willing to do to consolidate his position (and let’s not forget the Perak shennanigans) even before he ascends, what can we expect of him after he ascends?

People talk of things like Ops Lalang 2 and such, which would not be surprising; neither would more devious, subtle and insidious methods.

Anwar brought up yet more federal plans to poison the civil service into becoming Umno’s fourth wing and help topple the state governments.

The strategy seems to be to capture as much ‘political goods’ by hook or by crook (mostly crook) and then worry about electoral reprecussions later.

If he and his continue on this warpath, it will only be a matter of time before they get to the rest of us.

But we will not be cowered. The pursuit of truth and justice continues despite all, and we will weather whatever persecution they want to throw at us.

In the meantime, let’s watch and see whether the Umno elements under assault will grow a pair and fight back, or whether they’ll let their new king just walk all over them and banish them into the wilderness.

ps- In memorium of Omid Reza Misayafi, an Iranian blogger who died in prison :( Let our vigilance ensure it never happens here!

Well, let’s look at the positive side. If Najib is not doing the reverse of what he is doing now,his popularity will rise.

Let’s allow him to continue to made” desperate measure in desperate time “and provoke the rakyat.

His popularity vote stands at 41% now as compared to Badawi’s 46%.Even with 46% popularity vote Badawi cannot hang on to his post what more Najib with 41%

In three months time I bet you if there is another poll on him we would be looking at maybe 35% to 38% unless the poll is faked.

Will a PM with 35% popularity rate stays in power????

Then we will say goodbye to bad rubbish..lah.

“Desperate time needs desperate measure”.Does this statement sounds familiar.

Is he facing desperate time? Sure he is and under pressure to perform.

Let’ him make more mistakes as he comes in as the new PM. The only people who can bring him down is the rakyat.

With a 41% popularity rate ,surely he will not be able to hold on to the post long. Even our sleeping PM was not able to hold on to the post with a 46% rate.

If there is another poll in three months time I bet you the popularity rate for our incoming PM will drop further, may be in the range of 35 to 38%.

With such low rating,do you think he could hold on to the post of PM? Let’s be patient and remember the “RAHMAN’ PROPHECY.

He is the last umno PM for Malaysia. That’s it full stop.

  • A politician came to power from a ‘privileged political family’ and used the foul tactics of a non gentleman, will naturally feels, he owns the country. Even before he takes over the highest office in the land, the ugly face surfaces from the murky waters.
There is only one way to confront such an unprincipled and immoral monster, fight fire with fire…history has shown us the people power will always win in the end.
UMNO is not all that powerful unlike their early years. The Malays are deeply divided in their political beliefs….only those money mongers still back this racial party. The time is right, to woo the police and army to change their allegiance from the scums of the earth and return to the
people. Without these two structures, UMNO will be doomed.
Rise all good citizens, let the police and army see, we are united as ONE willing to confront this immoral tyrant and no longer tolerate the evil regime…the alternative is to go underground or form an off-shore alternative government and sabotage them with troopers inland.

As I see the conditions since the Perak crisis until now Najib is onschedule to remove all Pak lah’s group in UMNo council. Pak lah has to do something like holding on the fort and convince His Majesty that Najib is not suitable to be PM with baggae full of scandals. His Majesty reputation and respect will be affected also. If Najib is in control Malaysia Malaysia will go back to the Operation Lallang days. I strongly appeal to All PR Good Leadears to be Mindful of this potential scheme. PR have to be pattient till the next GE. Meantime they have to keep Najib in check through Parliament.. He is getting stronger by dirty tactic. just understand and read between lines what Rosmah said. I plead to His Majesty not to accept Najib as PM.

this is the most tainted PM2B.

allegations of his involvement in the murder of the mongolian girl will not go away because there are too many circumstantial evidences.

why did najib text baginda’s lawyers to assure the latter and he will see the IGP on the matter? Was there any inteference?

why is Musa prevented from testifying?

why didnt the prosecution appeal against the decision to free Baginda? is this prosecution team, which replaced an entire one at the last minute, was placed there to ensure Baginda is freed?

all Najib did in this horror killing was just to deny he was involved! Any murderer would have done the same-a denial at least.

Gosh, unless he clears up the circumstancial evidence, he is guilty in the minds of a lot of malaysians and therefore his fitness to be the PM is clearly doubtful!

Now would be a good time for Abdullah to rescind the power transfer plan. There are more than enough justification with Najib’s unsavoury reputation and unpopularity which gets worse by the day.

All Abdullah have to do to hold on the the premiership is to refuse to resign. There is no constitutional requirement for the PM to be the Umno President.

If he refuses to resign, he can only be removed by a vote of no confidence. Such a vote is unlikely to succeed with the opposition backing him.

Attempting to force him out by a vote of no confidence is also risky as he could advise the Agung to dissolve Parliament if he loses. The last thing Umno wants now is snap general elections.

Will Abdullah step down or won’t he? Civil groups should appeal for him to stay.

I am happy that Najib is consolidating power. And even happier that he is clearing out the men from the other camp. And I am also delighted at his attempt to screw the folks from PR.

And I hope all the rumours have some elements of truth.

Which means the rakyat can see through his motives. Let him continue his evil ways. Let him demonstrate his stupidity. Let him show the empty space between his ears. But at the same time, let him think that he is smart and capable. When the next election comes around, lets hope the rakyat will vote for the real and final change, and close the coffin on UMNO and BN forever.

Your typeprint with a black backgroung makes reading difficult. You should consider changing it.

well malaysia is in for a rough time under the incoming najib, this man means business and more vicious than the sleepy head dollah. more isa and thumping of the opposition for sure.

  • “you can bull some people some times, but you can’t bull all the people all the time”

The system failed, the so called democratic system allows people to manipulate. Untill a foolproff system comes in being, the people have to endure and suffer. What should we do to fight back? Wait till the next GE? Can we afford the time?
    Let’s consider another option….

Wed 28 – 8.30 pm, some 170 countries will switch off their lights for one hour to save energy. Good for the world, but energy companies will lose money for sure.

So why not we fix a special whole day for all of us not to use the toll expressway, surely some umno company will lose some money right?

Why don’t we do it? It will cause some inconvenience of course, but it surely will not cause any bloodshed. Will the PDRM force us to travel on those roads that day, would they? Can we support this action?

  • WATERBABY

If Pak Lah succumbs to Najib and his vicious theatrics ably supported by Lady McBeth, we are all a goner. The Police. our Guardians, have lost their right to defend the citizens. They are at the mercy of the Ah Longs through other Officialdom as the story goes.

All these multi million contracts. Who finally benefits? Would be interesting tio list them out. Now we have a larger MACC in the tentacles of EVIL. It is gouing to be strengthened by another 5000. God have mecy. What job will they do if they act as they are doing now.

God works in mysterious ways. Is that why he brings ruin to your family and position through pornography detected in Australia?
