Perak: Guns vs. Democracy, State Assembly under a tree

Update: The state assembly has apparently been called into session outside the state secretariat, beneath a tree in the carpark. Hidup demokrasi!

Like everyone else, I’m just following the news. See Malaysiakini, delCapo and Anil Netto.

So, they use the police to block the course of democracy. Our own elected representatives cannot carry out their duties, and it seems the state assembly secretary is more powerful than the Speaker himself.

If Perak BN is so confident and believes itself so legitimate, why fear the state assembly? Don’t you have those almighty numbers after all? Aren’t you confident in the legality of what you’ve done?

Or is hiding behind guns and riot gear the type of government we can expect in the weeks and months to come?

If that is so, we can expect BN to go the way of tyrants the world over.

Under the shade of a big tree! How very enterprising. Just like our hardworking rakyat selling prawn noodles, curry chicken, nasi lemak; making an honest living under the umbrella of a tree. So what if Bandaraya refuses you a hawking license, the public will support you if you provide good clean food at reasonable prices even if under a tree. Hidup Pakatan Rakyat and MB Nizar! The goons will pay some day for their arrogance and disrespect for the people’s choice of government.

    Hi Nat,

I am proud to be Perakian and proud as Ipoh boy too.
Siva, Nizar & gang has make history for a true democratic country, under a a tree!
Let us remember this moment and we will tell our children and their children how it started.
In Ipoh, under a tree! That’s how the real Malaysia was born!

The nation of Malaysia was once founded under a tree, the MELAKA TREE, when Parameswara sat under and noticed a mousedeer defeating a dog, hence declaring the creation of the Melaka Sultanate, the ancient foundations of our nation, Malaysia. Has Nazrin and Azlan Shah forgotten what their forefathers did and how their original heritage was founded? Would they both now deny the democracy that have occurred today under these trees? And it also under a tree, a Bodhi tree to be exact, that Siddhartha Gautama achieved enlightenment and founded one of the world’s great religions, Buddhism.

There is no shame assembling the august Perak DUN under a tree. Many of our forefathers found shelter under a tree, and as @clearwater mentioned, many of the common, ordinary Malaysians find our income there, selling our wares, our foods and setting up our stalls under these natural protectors. What the Perak DUN assembly today have demonstrated is their commonness at heart with the Malaysian and Perakian people.

The trees of Malaysia have today served as the shades and protectors of our democracy.

The Era of Anarchy has just begun in the coming Premiership of Nargis, the most corrupted of all corrupters, all Malaysians beware that they, Nargis & UMNO, will spent Government Money to buy Chaos in order to impose Dictatorial Government without election or after they have lost the Election in GE 13, we have all learnt from Perak Government’s takeover by deceit and by force of using the Police Force which could be bought and the Assemblymen who were bought either with money or in kind like no case in court for their corruptions’ cases pending trials if they defect from Pakatan and of course the sole DAP betrayer could be bought with a great sum of money as Nargis knew and as well as the betrayer that she could never be elected ever again in Jelapang and of course the pension sum must be huge including allowance for her permanent retirement for making a betrayal to Pakatan for short term benefiting of Nargis?

There must be a good reason for the Sultan well learned in law and also once holding the highest office in Supreme Court took a lowly decision in support of the most corrupted Politician call Nargis, Peem in awaiting. No offence intended to the Sultan who was highly regarded until just now only, it is either he has been threatened with some secret files on him held by Nargis, or like all the other froggies that had been lured by huge sums of money offered by the most greedy of Corrupters called Nargis who used the nation’s coffers as his own kitty bank. Knowing very well that Nargis would not last the next GE, this is the best opportunity to make some good cash funds for keeps as the next Government under PKR will be clean and righteous for the God, King, People and Country.

Not realizing that Corruptions breed even more Corruptions and this is the vicious circle and the people of Perak are ones who would suffer in the long run and they will not forget what a Sultan they have had. If Narjis and UMNO is in Power it is most likely that the nation’s coffers would be decimated and there will be nothing left for our Children’s Children, therefore make sure the UMNO along with all their goons are thrown out the next election.

God bless you the people of Malaysia

  • Yes, it was a very proud moment for democracy, thanks to those fearless elected representatives coming out to speak up for the rakyat. And it was also a very dark moment for democracy, for BN has mobilised (and abused) government machinery to curtail democracy in Malaysia!

On the one hand, Syed Hamid had just said police cannot enter Parlimen (to protect Karpal Singh from harassment by Pemuda UMNO). And now on the otehr hand, police has been used to stop Perak’s elected ADUNs from entering the State Assembly.

These are brave men willing to fight for justice against all odds. Malaysians should support them against the tyrants. In this modern era there are still despots thriving on parasite support. This should end.

  • If the state assembly is illegal, then BN should not be that afraid up to the point the police had to be used to block it… as it can be challenged in the court and declared void…

This means, they know it’s legal and any decision is valid… that’s why they tried to block it….

I hope and pray that justice will prevail. I am proud and at the same time sadden. Proud that we have Towering Malaysians like YB Sivakumar and YAB Mohd Nizar amongst many who are willing to fight for justice. I do hope and pray for divine intervention.

Democracy is already serve, only one I hoping and pray to god not to allow any of the opposition party to lead this country.
If DAP lead or win majority, Chinese will rule Malaysia, I mean not directly but indirectly. They are master manipulator.
While if PAS lead or win majority, our leader consists of hypocric leader.
While if Pakatan, the benefit still to chinese. Meanwhile indian. malay or any other races their way of life still maintain like what ever there used to be or maybe worse.
Indian is much worse because of their culture like “sifat kedekut” and “selfish” within their individual self. It even worse with the one who already rich.
Why not doing what ever the opposition do now during Mahathir era. Too chicken shit to do it, bukan.
Addullah era, is much lenience, his too tolerate with what ever tuduhan you guy made.
If you guy in Singapore, I think, secrectly one by one of each of you loud mouth will disappear.
