These seem to be central questions that need some answering.
I don’t really blog about people’s personal lives. But Khir’s (suspiciously instant) call for Eli to resign cannot be left unanswered.
Our fave ex-MB argues that like Chua Soi Lek, Eli must take full responsibility.
Like Chua Soi Lek? You mean that married guy who was caught on video having sex with someone clearly not his wife in a hotel room?
Yes, I can see how much that resembles the case of a single young woman being photographed without her consent in her own home. (Remind me which law, civil or moral, that violates again?)
I would also like to ask: does this mean that if I were somehow able to procur naked photos of Khir Toyo (God forbid, botox or no botox), I can spread them to the public and then reasonably demand that he resign his state assembly seat and his run for Umno Youth Chief?
I haven’t seen the pictures, and in all honesty don’t really want to (no offence, but that’d just be weird).
Still, from this state of ignorance, I know many would (rightfully) say that whatever happened in her private life is entirely her business. All that matters is her ability to serve the rakyat with integrity and dedication.
I would like to take it a step further. Again, from a state of ignorance, for all I know, these photos could have been taken by someone who broke into Eli’s house while she was asleep.
Until proof to the contrary presents itself, I believe it’s quite fair to give the benefit of the doubt.

This demand for Eli Wong’s resignation is absolutely ridicilous. People like Khir Toyo is a man without insight and wisdom. HIs line of reasoning makes me think how he led Selangor for so many years. The American people saw their President Clinton, come out in open admiting his wrong doing when he committed adultery with Monica Lewinsky. His popularity nose dived and he was at the verge of impeachment. Yet to see how the nation was so forgiving and accepted his honest confession and still accepted his leadership and allowed him to lead America was somethinng our Malaysian leaders never learned to emulate. No wonder America si light years ahead of us. Come on people, why shouls Eli resign. If Soi Lek resigned and then ran for MCA election and won in it again does that mean the MCA people have forgotten his wrong doings? IF they have forgiven him and allowed him to run for election, why have double standard form Eli Wong.? Why even consider him for election if his image istarnished by the immoral act? why subject Eli to such a demand. If so then get Soi Lek to resign. If not, let Eli ran for Bukit lanjan by-election. Well you allowed Soi Lek ran for election!
You are elected by the people and later on called as “Yang Berhormat”. The YB title carries a lot of weight. You must look after the title as carefully as possible. You don’t want a slut or a gangster to be your YB eventhough the person is a genius. In Malaysia, regardless of race and religion, we don’t want a candidate with a low moral background eventhough she or he can do an excellence service to the public. You don’t want a YB with a double life. I have to commend YB Eli Wong to resign from all posts. She has the commonsense to think which is more important, your country or yourself. And it must applies both to BN and the so-called PR YBs.
I guess you analogy of the whole episode is what you honestly think. But have you really ponder and put yourself in the position of the thousands of parents in delima over our explanation for her and Soi Lek’s behavior to our kids? I overheard the rational of my neighbour’s daughter to her parents during one of their shouting match, “Aiyah, go out late night pun tak boleh, bukan macam Eli, sleeping around naked pun you org vote for her. Maybe if I sleep with a Malay man and let him take pictures of me I also can be YB!”
Secondly, don’t tell me she is innocent. Some of the pictures circulated in the cell phones shows that she is a willing participant in this “xxx” episode. So think again. of course the guy who took the picture is wrong and should be horse wipped, so does the star in the pron movie!
