Update 5pm: I’m indeed grateful that Ms. Tan is out, I really hope it’s the end of the ordeal for her. While we wait for what she has to say (give her time, take my word for it), we must now question: why would someone be arrested under the ISA, only to be released in less than 24 hours?
I fear that the facts point to the possibility that (once again?) the police acted unilaterally, and that the government is not speaking with one voice, or acting with one mind. Of course, Najib, Muhyiddin, Mahathir, and the cops themselves come to mind.
In my view, this puts us in an eminently undesirable and unstable position. Something I hope can be remedied quickly.
I’m very happy to hear that Tan Hoon Cheng may be released to day.
Incidentaly, I think this one takes the cake:

The Honourable DPM apologised openly and publicly for what Ahmad did, the Umno supreme council suspended Ahmad for 3 years. This clearly indicates his wrong doing. Why arrest the reporter..and that too under ISA

ISA Tan for her own safety….what kind of a crap statement is that? Are we kids and just sit back and believe every words they said. If they are worry of her safety, why not just send a tank to her house with police guarding her house 24/7?
In any western countries, for safety of their citizen, they would 1) advise that person to go somewhere else for a priod of time. 2) offer police protection 24/7. 3) provide alternate accommodation for the victim.
Recently my top company people were kidnapped, and then badly tortured.
I was able to get the 2 released and the kidnappers were caught.
It is now 2 years, the case keeps getting postponed and the kidnappers are out on police bail happily walking the streets. One of them is a foreigner bringing in labour and still making much money.
This guy has weird sense of humour, yes I am talking about the bald guy who happens to be law grad and Home Minister. I was at the impression that ISA is for National Security, now it is being used for the Journalist who have treat over their head. So next time if the ministers treaten the journalist, the journalist can be put under ISA for their own protection. Such stupidity can only come from our beloved Syed Halba.
