Two online writers sued for accusing Mohd Zin of corruption

(Pardon the long absence, been a bit unwell)

While RPK gets sued (again), there’s a lesser known case of a blogger and an editor also being sued for defamation in their attempts to expose corruption.

Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed had filed a suit against a PKR politician and a website editor for publishing defamatory allegations.

Faizal Mustaffa, who is Kelana Jaya MP Loh Gwo Burne’s political secretary, and Ahmad Lufti Othman of Detikdaily Suara Reformasi Rakyat, were asked to issue an apology and to retract the statement.

Mohd Zin claimed the two had defamed him in an article on Detikdaily on March 24.

I know Faisal (not Faizal!) pretty well and believe I’ve met Lufti, who is Harakahdaily’s editor if I’m not mistaken. Both are great guys.

I believe the issue in question can be found in a MK report on Faisal’s blog - have a look. I reckon Mohd Zin’s time would be better spent fixing the MRR2.

In any case, I hope the truth will out!

Thanks for the bouquets and brickbats from the last article (and thanks to MK for printing it). I found them all very good cause for reflection.

Haha…how right ! That’s a sorry tale of neverending woes.
Actually, the latest problems are not so bad, just one pillar involved, and the strength of the structure is basically OK now, just surface pieces falling off.

The original repairs in 2006 were much, much more serious than the authorities ever admitted. The information going around the civil engineering circles in the country was MRR2 could have suffered catastrophic collapse without the repairs. Hundreds or even thousands of deaths if such an event occurred at peak hours.

  2. RPK is famous of creating article which have facts and fiction within the contents. There’s no doubt about it which is why people start to sue him for his irresponsible act.

We now have to be sure the fire’s genuine
Otherwise there may be cases of backfire
