Sharlinie kidnapper struck again? Cops busy chasing shadows, dealing with ‘non-sodomy-related’ med reports

updated: My humble apologies, I think I got Sharlinie confused with Nurin in the original post. Thanks to commenter for finding out.

Sharlinie’s killer kidnapper may have struck again, according to the testimony of a recently escpaed 13 yr old kidnap victim.

Penculik Sharlinie Mohd.

:(

What are our police doing amidst all this? Deputy IGP:

Saying police have never dilly-dallied in investigating this case Ismail said police had on the contrary given the case priority as it was a high profile case.

“We want to solve this case as soon as possible. The investigating officer is constantly looking for new leads.

New leads? O_o

In my mind, this is parallel to the following hypothetical case: Someone accuses me of stealing an apple, and the police now want to scrutinise every hour of every day of my life, to see if there might perhaps have been an incident wherein I may have stolen an apple.

The early suspicions as to why the police refused to release Saiful’s police report is so that it can still perhaps be altered to fit whatever is most convenient.

Specluative? Completely. But the cops would do good to put speculations to rest by simply publishing the report.

While neglecting child-killers to chase after Anwar phantoms, the police are also dealing with mutli-million corruption scandals.

Meanwhile, Hospital Pusrawi:

Hospital Pusrawi today clarified that its medical officer Dr Muhammad Osman Abdul Hamid did not conduct a sodomy-related examination on Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

Really?

Then why does the report (see annotated pdf; medical experts, please feel free to dispute the notes) read: “TRO Assault (sodomise)“? (ie – To rule out assault/sodomy)

There’s also a strange passage in the report which reads that the victim (Saiful) alleged that he was assaulted by insertion of a plastic item? What?..

Anyway, if that’s not a sodomy related examination, I don’t know what is.

Lastly, Syed Hamid:

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar today urged the medical fraternity to take stern action against a Myanmar doctor from Hospital Pusrawi or anyone responsible for “leaking” a medical report on Saiful Bukhari Azlan showing no evidence of sodomy.

Syed Hamid also lambasted Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for going around publishing the medical reports through the media.

“If he (Anwar) has new evidence, he should give them to the police,” said Syed Hamid, after officiating at the International Conference on Representation of Islam and Muslims in the Media in PWTC.

He added that it was unethical for doctors to reveal medical reports of their patients.

I can agree on the last point, but as my uncle pointed out, wasn’t there also a leaked medical report on VK Lingam’s brother during the Royal Commission?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there doesn’t seem to have been any threats issued by Syed Hamid then.

Somebody should remind Syed Hamid – the more you struggle and thresh around in quicksand, the quicker you sink.

On rumors of Anwar’s impending arrest – I find myself having some inclinations to alter a little my earlier theory; perhaps it is not that the cops/lawyers are trying to force the hand of Abdullah/Najib, perhaps they are merely taking matters into their own hands, to prevent an Anwar ascendancy, and simply couldn’t care less how badly this reflects on Abdullah/Najib, or how this affects their battle.

Maybe all they care about is throwing everything including the kitchen sink in their attempt to prevent Anwar from coming to power. Fearing for their career and their freedom I guess.

It’s just speculation, but that can account for the arrest rumours not materialising. Maybe the cops wanted to (on charges of ‘leaking’ medical reports? lol), but government is trying to pull in the reins.

Nat, I think you are being unfair to categorize the police as a single monolithic force trying to prevent Anwar from becoming PM. There are a number of good people in the police force, rather than relegating the entire force as being responsible for this brouhaha, it is most likely a handful of higher-ups, perhaps the IGP or his deputy and some police bigwigs.

Even if Anwar becomes PM (and that is a very big IF), realistically, how stable can this hypothetical govt be using cross-overs? It is unstable at best, because the numerical odds in Parliament does not favor Pakatan Rakyat, and any such federal govt by Pakatan will hang on a very very precarious simple majority that could be lost easily by a small number of reverse cross-overs back to BN. Rather, Pakatan Rakyat should work hard on what they currently administer, to gain confidence of voters and achieve a proper majority and mandate in the next general elections.

Anwar should prepare a successor, perhaps his wife, Wan Azizah, who he thinks should be PM in his place. Because with the way things look right now, it is best he chooses to become the sacrificial lamb to pave the way for his chosen successor to be the Pakatan Rakyat’s PM instead.

nat: agreed, by ‘cops’ i mean the top guns and particular individuals, not the force as a whole. while i’m here, i think the plan is that if there were any crossover, the majority would be in the clear double digits.

  • 1. Now that there is a lead to Sharlinie’s case, the police should start investigating in that direction, since it seems that they have long lost all leads towards solving this case.

They say they do not dilly-dally. So then let’s see some action from them now that this near-victim has come out to say what she saw.

    2. I agree with your thoughts on the Puswari statement. That they say it is “not sodomy-related” does not talk to the medical note/report/paper itself, where the diagnosis is “TRO assault (sodomise)”

You simply don’t conclude TRO [something], if it was not related to it in the first place.

    3. Granted that the leaking of medical reports are unethical, and really shouldn’t have happened. I’d say that investigations should be carried out to find out who it was, and perhaps then action should be taken.

But before that happens, shouldn’t they (the police) explain why it is that they chose to continue with the investigations given that there is a medical report/note stating the negative?

If they had made a choice to rubbish this report, and take the one from HKL as being “true” – assuming that the HKL report states the positive – they have the burden of explaining why they take this stand.

The content of the “leaked” report/note should not be overshadowed by ethical issues. Both are important, but one more so than the other in their investigations to wrap up this case.

PS: Been following your blog for some time now. I like your line of thought.

    Cheers.

The world is so unsafe =( and I feel fearful for our young ones. And I’m hoping against hope that the police DO something about it. No more talking. On another note, the doctor is not tasked to carry out a sodomy-related examination and he did NOT – that’s the point. For a sodomy allegation a special examination is needed. Do take a read of this, I just feel it’s important we do not make our mind up before all sides are heard :

Any girl maybe a virgin from the time she is born until she dies if she choses to do so.She gets a hymen tear when her vagina is penetrated.

All human beings anus gets reversely penetrated(passing motion) within a few days of birth and this act continues almost on a daily basis for the rest of their lives.

Most adults(male/female/trans) would have been reversely penetrated sometime(and some many times) in their lives with big hard feaces when they were constipated.

When you are constipated, your feaces is usually hard and dry ……. how many of us had tears? Some of us may have bled a little but the next time we went to pass motion, no more bleeding any more ……… leave alone blood after few days. For pus to form , you need a tear and infection to set which rarely occurs.

For all those who still doubt that someone can get sodomized without suffering any tear, bleed and pus formation need to know that anuses are being routinely penetrated in hospitals on a daily basis with metal proctoscopes which are 8-10inch long and about 1 inch in diameter, the obturator is removed once the proctoscopes is in and once deeper inside the anus – no tears, no bleeds.

    ABOUT THE OUTPATIENT EXAMINATION

1)It was done either in outpatient and probably in an ER(A&E) room
2)It was done by a medical officer and not a specialist
3)The history taken was very minimal as rightly pointed out:

when it occurred ie time, date, place
how many times has it occurred

    who did it
consensual forced or neither ie not agreeing but not resisting
any constipation recently or in the past
    size, consistency , shape etc.

    Physical examination PR means Per Rectal examination whereby the basic examination would be;

spreading the cheeks of the buttocks in a semi prone position to look at the anus under good lighting
putting a gloved forefinger through the anus to feel tone, swellings, irregular surfaces, prostate
proctoscope examination whereby a speculum is inserted through the anus to look directly at the anal canal and also the anus while the proctosocpe is being withdraw out of the anal canal after completing the examination. This is the appropriate exam to look for tears.

Looking at the OPD exam, it looks like the doctor just performed only the visual exam because:

all is reported as “seen/not seen”
no mention made of findings of finger rectal exam ie stained with mucus/blood/feaces etc.
    no proctoscopy exam findings mentioned

It is surprising how casual the examination was in view of the fact that the patient complained of assault to his anus – doctor’s job is to do a thorough exam irrelevant whether he/she believes the patient complaint(s)

Finally, the examination was not done by a specialist who in this case would have to be a colorectal surgeon and a forensic specialist. Even if the specialist finds no tears(old or new), blood or pus, it does not mean a person was not sodomized.

A disservice has been done to both the patient and also the alleged assaulter by the very poor history taking as well as physical examination of the patient. It is not rare for doctors to take such poor history and do such poor examination in patients with running nose or cough of few days but to do so in a potentially medico-legal case is grossly irresponsible.
The doctor’s only service to this patient was that he felt that patient may have been sodomised [TRO Assault(Sodomise)]and thus needs to be properly examined by someone more qualified and experienced in such areas which rightly should have been a specialist from the same hospital. It is a well known fact that private hospitals have briefed their A&E MOs to refer any potentially medico-legal case which do not have life threatening problems to government hospitals to avoid any hassles later on.
As a medical doctor, i feel the slipshod OPD examination should be properly addressed and explained by the Malaysian Medical Association so that no party(accuser or the accused) can twist the facts any further.

Blogreader: This is a comment on a video (lifeted from Malaysia-Today) which i think everyone should watch. The Deputy IGP has already ‘confirmed’ Anwar HAS SODOMIZED Saiful, even before the Anwar is charged by the police.

This stupid incompetent Tan Sri should really mind his language. He should go back to his past, present and future tense classes.

Funny and sad thing is, if someone were to interview the presiding judge over this trial, he might say just the same as this Tan Sri.

The police r not interested in murder or any crimanl cases. They have the whole police force zooming on a personal sex issue. Thats what they r interest in. SEX man. Life is nothing to them la. We r now like Zimbabwee.

  • bowl

Political nonsense all the time in a supposedly unbiased and transparent site. If one is not satisfied with the police’s lack of action on the Sharlinie case, why include DSAI’s issue as well? And do you really know if the police are not doing anything? Isn’t it a form of libel/slander, to say that the detectives on the Sharlinie case are not doing their jobs?

I agree that our police force is definitely up to standard by you are being unfair in generalizing the whole PDRM and downgrading the jobs of dedicated and honest policemen and policewomen. You are fuelling public hatred to those in the PDRM who are truly sincere in protecting the innocent. Think about it for a sec.

Many people said Dr. M is the best. #$%*$!!!
    What he has gave us?
    KLCC, KLIA, Putrajaya………..all the debts!!!
The culture of Dr. M will lead us to the dead end,
The leadership of Anwar Ibrahim has united PAS, DAP and PKR. Breakthrough of racist is what we are expecting from him!
We need a fuel saving engine now because we don’t have enough money left in our pocket.
Wake up! Self obsession will destroy world.

  • uih

nat? sharlinie killer?!! sharlinie masih belum dijumpai mati lagi ok. tolong tulis betul-betul.

  • wearenotstupid

We do have a few good one in the force, maybe one or two???

Would like to advise those a few good one, if they have good faith, please do stand up defend for justice. Don’t be coward. They are trained to be brave with dignity.

It is very sad that there are no good model as their leadership except bullshit!!!

  • MUSLIM

First The Botak say Anwar should help the police should he has any evident, I think the police knows there was no case of sodomy, because they were the one who created this case what they were doing now is they force the hospital to admit that the report was done by not a proffessional doctor, so next, they can go back HKL to comfirmed that Anwar has sodomise, and as you see know even police has become a judge,
    judging that Anwar is guilty.
I am still wondering why all this is so important then the country , the economy, the public security and so on
The police went beyond what they are supposed to do, fabricating and making false report about this case, the IGP

Dr M is the biggest crook in Malaysia. He has been sowing the seeds of hatred, corruption and lies into the hearts and minds of as many Malaysians as he possibly could. And he is still doing so right now.

Maybe Marvel Comics should start designing a villain hero by the name of DR. M and have it resembles our former PM of 22 years.

    That’ll be nice.

wearenotstupid, Blogreader, Malaysia would be even further behind, had it not been for Dr Mahathir. He is Malaysia’s Lee Kuan Yew, and LKY is no angel either.

I submit to you one evidence that Dr Mahathir had saved Malaysia. Remember the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis? Anwar, the liberal hero he is now, back then as Finance Minister wanted to follow IMF’s recommendation and would have eventually had Malaysia borrow funds from the IMF. Look at what happened to those countries that borrowed from the IMF in 1997: Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea – these countries suffered social and economic unrest at a large social cost.

Dr Mahathir instead made an original decision that defied the convention at that time among economic “experts” – he decided to implement capital controls and peg the Malaysia Ringgit, in order to stop the panic among investors and stop unscrupulous foreign investors from pulling their money out from Malaysia and thus making the economic situation worse.

His decision was ridiculed at that time, in the words of one “expert”, would bring “disaster” to the country. What then happened? It turns out that this was the best decision at the time to help place Malaysia back on its road to recovery, while avoiding the huge social cost brought about by the austerity measures recommended by IMF.

Had we allowed Anwar to borrow from the IMF and follow their recommendations and that of his Western “buddies” such as Paul Wolfowitz (previous World Bank president), we would have gone the way of Thailand or Indonesia back in 1997-1999.

It is this one such episode that convinced me that while Anwar has very good oratory skills, he does not have the brains to come up with original ideas, which Dr Mahathir seems to have a better knack at doing.

So, if you wish to criticize Dr Mahathir, please be fair in your criticism. Give the old man his due.

  • I agree that there are good and honest police officers as well there are hard working and honest judges and judicial officers . If I remember correctly in 1998 , judges like Sheikh Daud , KC Vohrah and the late Malek Ahmad and a registrar by the name of Zainal stood against the likes of Eusoff Chin the then CJ and Lamin Yunus , the President Court of Appeal . All of them had retired since except the registrar who I was informed is still serving as a district judge somewhere . Lawyers for Anwar Ibrahim should know this brave officer and requested the present CJ to appoint him to hear the case .

  • [...] Got this video of the Deputy IGP from a sharp commentator. [...]
