Anwar in Permatang Pauh

Looks like Kulim, Bandar Tun Razak, etc, was all smokescreen, true to form. Perhaps I should learn to trust my ‘inside’ sources a little more :)

It’ll be quite an affair, and we’ll see what else the powers that be want to throw at Anwar in the meantime. Will they arrest him? Well, don’t forget that an ISA detainee won a seat in the last elections.

A short tribute here to Kak Wan - a wonderful human being who has carried quite a burden for a decade now. I think she will enjoy semi-retirement, and hope she’ll have more time to spend with her grandchild.. :)

Meanwhile, PAS affirms their loyalty to Pakatan. I have a strange feeling Nasha’s future may be dimming.. Musam perhaps? Mere speculation.

Sharlinie kidnapper struck again? Cops busy chasing shadows, dealing with ‘non-sodomy-related’ med reports

updated: My humble apologies, I think I got Sharlinie confused with Nurin in the original post. Thanks to commenter for finding out.

Sharlinie’s killer kidnapper may have struck again, according to the testimony of a recently escpaed 13 yr old kidnap victim.

Penculik Sharlinie Mohd.

:(

What are our police doing amidst all this? Deputy IGP:

Saying police have never dilly-dallied in investigating this case Ismail said police had on the contrary given the case priority as it was a high profile case.

“We want to solve this case as soon as possible. The investigating officer is constantly looking for new leads.

New leads? O_o

In my mind, this is parallel to the following hypothetical case: Someone accuses me of stealing an apple, and the police now want to scrutinise every hour of every day of my life, to see if there might perhaps have been an incident wherein I may have stolen an apple.

The early suspicions as to why the police refused to release Saiful’s police report is so that it can still perhaps be altered to fit whatever is most convenient.

Specluative? Completely. But the cops would do good to put speculations to rest by simply publishing the report.

While neglecting child-killers to chase after Anwar phantoms, the police are also dealing with mutli-million corruption scandals.

Meanwhile, Hospital Pusrawi:

Hospital Pusrawi today clarified that its medical officer Dr Muhammad Osman Abdul Hamid did not conduct a sodomy-related examination on Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

Really?

Then why does the report (see annotated pdf; medical experts, please feel free to dispute the notes) read: “TRO Assault (sodomise)“? (ie - To rule out assault/sodomy)

There’s also a strange passage in the report which reads that the victim (Saiful) alleged that he was assaulted by insertion of a plastic item? What?..

Anyway, if that’s not a sodomy related examination, I don’t know what is.

Lastly, Syed Hamid:

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar today urged the medical fraternity to take stern action against a Myanmar doctor from Hospital Pusrawi or anyone responsible for “leaking” a medical report on Saiful Bukhari Azlan showing no evidence of sodomy.

Syed Hamid also lambasted Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for going around publishing the medical reports through the media.

“If he (Anwar) has new evidence, he should give them to the police,” said Syed Hamid, after officiating at the International Conference on Representation of Islam and Muslims in the Media in PWTC.

He added that it was unethical for doctors to reveal medical reports of their patients.

I can agree on the last point, but as my uncle pointed out, wasn’t there also a leaked medical report on VK Lingam’s brother during the Royal Commission?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there doesn’t seem to have been any threats issued by Syed Hamid then.

Somebody should remind Syed Hamid - the more you struggle and thresh around in quicksand, the quicker you sink.

On rumors of Anwar’s impending arrest - I find myself having some inclinations to alter a little my earlier theory; perhaps it is not that the cops/lawyers are trying to force the hand of Abdullah/Najib, perhaps they are merely taking matters into their own hands, to prevent an Anwar ascendancy, and simply couldn’t care less how badly this reflects on Abdullah/Najib, or how this affects their battle.

Maybe all they care about is throwing everything including the kitchen sink in their attempt to prevent Anwar from coming to power. Fearing for their career and their freedom I guess.

It’s just speculation, but that can account for the arrest rumours not materialising. Maybe the cops wanted to (on charges of ‘leaking’ medical reports? lol), but government is trying to pull in the reins.

Hope Amidst Chaos: Our Nation’s Brightest

I think the people featured would be a little too shy to publicise this themselves, but it’s well worth the publicising :)

The feature is - Freedom Fighters: Our Nation’s Brightest Speak Their Mind. What Style: magazine doesn’t tell you on the cover is that these pejuang kick ass and look damn good doing it.

I’ll leave it to the pics.

Go get a copy! Took me multiple trips to multiple shops, but it’s the best 8 bucks you’ll spend… :)

Pas/Umno? Asas Sebenar Perpaduan Melayu

I can still write in Malay? :)  Also see Nik Nazmi and Pak Bakaq on this issue. Ps- From a brief surveying, there are hotheads and coolheads on both sides of the PAS/DAP divide; let’s hope the latter prevails.

Perpaduan apa jika rasuah masih bermaharajalela?

Saiful’s medical report - Police hit messengers, ignore message

Well, I’ll admit that medical records are supposed to be confidential. I’m not sure how it all leaked out, but I’m still very suspicious about the police’s reaction to this whole matter.

The report of a doctor ruling out that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan had been sodomised is an attempt to sabotage police investigations, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar.

He also stated that the report was aimed at confusing the public in relation to the sodomy allegation against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Ismail was commenting about the report which was published in Malaysiakini as well as in other blogs including Malaysia Today.

According to nstonline, he said the police are considering investigating a “news website and a blog over their reports.”

However, Ismail declined to comment on the medical report itself, saying investigations were ongoing.

Always targeting the messenger, always ignoring the message. And the Casablanca-esque usual suspects? Us in cyberspace of course. CCID to the rescue? :P

You want to investigate the leakage of confidential documents fine, but you better be just as enthusiastic about determining the truth contained inside the medical report.

The public would stand for all this nonsense anymore, when will they get it?

Haha, either that or maybe it was the police themselves who leaked the report. Yeah2, too much conspiracy theory, I know.

I share the concerns for Dr. Mohammed Osman’s safety, and questions as to why the mainstream press is so silent on this issue. Ternganga?

Mercedes? Proton?… Toyota?

The best is, if you ask me, wherever possible - no new cars!

ps- gotten pretty quiet of late hasn’t it? quiet and grey…

Umno Ex-MP/Dep.Minister joins KeADILan :)

ADILsms reports that Fauzi Rahman, who used to be the MP for Kuantan and a Deputy Minister of Information in the PM’s Dept, has just joined KeADILan :) Announcement came at a press conference with Anwar in KeADILan headquarters.

I know his son, who’s a good guy :)

One down, many to go?
