I’m unfortunately too far away to write too many intelligent things, but I note with some amusement TDM’s “No, I’m not racist what, where got” post.
The thing I found twistedly funny about it is his use of the ‘i’m not racist, hindraf is racist – those indians, i tell you’ line, which too my overly active imagination might have been a double entrende to prove his Malay, as opposed to Indian, credentials (probably notlah).
I have been amused by, but never given much credence to people who say TDM should shut up about Malay rights because he is supposedly a mamak and not a Malay – after all, I always believe anyone can (moreover, should!) speak up for the rights of anyone else.
Is he getting a bit defensive though? Trying to prove his true ‘loyalty?’ I dunno, probably just silly overreading :)
In any case, I remain committed regarding the need to improve the welfare of Malays, but still think that Mahathir is playing a dangerous, selfish game.

Nat,
Indeed Tun has gone bonkers. But you’ll be suprised that a million bloggers support him . However to tell you the truth I havent heard of any of those bloggers who praise Tun daily. I dont know if they are authentic as well. Tun is capable of anything to get support.
Anyway when he was interviewed on BBC’s Hardtalk 2 months ago, he was thrashed when they brought up his racist policies and agendas. He just could not answer. Tun, is only capable of answering after he shuts his opponents up. Thats has been the case ” dulu, kini dan selama lamanyer ”
He is trying to pit the Indians against the Malays this time to bring AAB down. In 1969 he succeeded to pit the Malays against the Chinese.
For a mamak he talks too much for the Malays. Are the Malays really so bad and ” ketandusan” pemimpin till the need a mamak from India to lead them and tell them what Malay rights is all about ? Shameful !!
He said in his blog that the immigrants should adopt the culture of the indigenous people, is he suggesting that Malays adopt the culture of the Orang Asli ?
If the Malays are indigenous people of this country , then who are the Orang Asli and where did they come from ?
My comment at his blog must have upset him so he`s disallowed it:
If you talk of the imagined plight of other races in Malaysia, and make ridiculous statements that the Tamil Indians in Malaysia are facing “ethnic cleansing” when you know that no such thing is happening, it is not racist. – chedet
I`m amazed that at your age you do not understand what `ethnic cleansing` means and are equating it to genocide to defend your position.
All those indian `slaves` kept in your estates (remember the largest estates are malay owned like Sime darby, Guthries etc) were victims of your ethnic cleansing.
They were brought in during colonial times. You yourself went after Carcosa during your time?
So why shouldn`t the indians go after the British for compensation?
Only you are right, other are stupid or idiots. Please get off your high horse and see how you destroyed the country and tore apart the social fabric.
Now you reap the harvest you sowed. Pathetic case I say.
Mortgaging freedom for security : Arbitrary detention of five HINDRAF leaders
The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT), in the framework of their joint programme, the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, make public today the report of an international mission of judicial observation in Malaysia.
The mission, organised in close cooperation with SUARAM (Suara Rakyat Malaysia), was carried out in Kuala Lumpur by Ms. Laurie Berg, an Australian lawyer, from January 22to February 1, 2008. Indeed, from January 24 to 28, 2008, a hearing of the habeas corpus application of P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, V. Ganabatirau, R. Kenghadharan and T .Vasanthakumar, five leaders of the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF), an NGO defending the rights of the Indian minority in Malaysia, took place.
http://makkalsakti.blogspot.com/
“But if you read what I have quoted would you not conclude that Hindraf and Param Cumaraswamy, who objected to their detention under the ISA, as racist especially as his desire to have me detained under the Act for telling the Malays to realise that they are not ‘Tuan’ when they have to clean the shoes of others,” he said on his blog.
Dr Mahathir’s tough stand on Hindraf is a shade different from the one he took in January after the government detained five Hindraf leaders under the ISA. The government alleged that the five were behind the demonstration which rocked Kuala Lumpur on Nov 25 and were inciting trouble in the community with their nationwide road show.
Dr Mahathir said then: ”No, I don’t think they should have thrown the leaders (into detention), they should have met these people first and had proper discussion.”
-themalaysianinsider
The poor man is nothing but a hypocite, and very dangerous.
“….but still think that Mahathir is playing a dangerous, selfish game.”
Hindraf’s act of accusing the existence of “ethnic cleansing” in Malaysia is a much more dangerous game.
Even more dangerous when they (Hindraf) have mentioned that the Indians in Malaysia “….may be forced into terrorism in a matter of time as what has happened to the Sri Lankan Tamils”.
That statement, in itself, is a very dangerous threat made by Hindraf.
TDM is merely responding to what others have accused him of. Is there anything wrong to respond to accusations ? Which is better : a person who responds to his surroundings or a person who puts on a deaf ear towards everything that has been thrown to him ?
When someone does not respond, he is labelled as “sleeper”, “no good”, “weak” and other deragatory remarks.
When someone does infact respond against the things which he is accused of, he is labelled as “being defensive”.
Honestly what the Tun said in JB wasn’t pleasant to non Malay ears and definitely racist no matter which way you look at it. Of course most of us know Tun is only trying to play racial politics by playing up Malay sentiments to get Malay support to oust Abdullah.
He’s retired and should stay that way instead of playing with fire which could burn him instead.
If the Hindraf5 are in kamunting, then Mahathir should also be there – till the ISA is removed.
even my comments are disallowed in Tun’s blog. The man just cannot take criticism. He must ONLY be praised !!
This guy is an outright racist who will never hesitate to instigate trouble and use gutter politics for his cause.
Any Tom, Dick and Harry can play the racist card but it is of no importance but a former PM playing the racist card, instigating animosity between the rakyat and trying to justify himself its just incredulous.
Please Dr.M enough of all the destruction done for the past 22yrs.
pls could TDM show his malay roots ie his father , grandfather . great grandfather name and where they are from then i will not question his mamak roots anymore. in fact i remember reading somewhere that he was classified as an indian when he was studying in s’pore.
“I’m unfortunately too far away to write too many intelligent things”
I have read some of your blogs and these blogs were good, in fact quite good, but not great and definitely not too intelligent. Even if you are to get too close you would be able to write good blogs, really good blogs, but not great and definitely not too intelligent.
The Great Tun in his latest posting entitled “The Racist Card” came up with his conception of loyalty by saying that the ‘immigrant races’ must speak the native language and adopt native culture before they can be considered loyal. Great !
So locally, Sabahans should insists all immigrant races in the state to speak native language (which one – there are so many, Bajau, kadazan, Dusun, Orang Siungei ?) and adopt native culture (again, which one ?) before they are consdered loyal Sabahans. Sarawakian natives too can also insist on the same requirement (Which one ? – Penan, bidayuh, Iban ?) to be considered a loyal Sarawakian.
In Peninsula, we have better speak and adopt (Senoi, Jakun and what others ?) language and culture, otherwise none of us can be considered as loyal citizens of this land, Malaysia.
Extending Tun’s logic internationally, all New Zealanders will have to speak Maori language and adopt Maori culture before they can be considered loyal New Zealanders, So also the Australians, they better speak adopt their aboriginal language and culture, otherwise they will be considerd disloyal Australians. The various racs in India – whose language should they speak and whose culture should they adopt before they can be considered a loyal Indian – Tamil, Gujaratis, Bengalis ? (Who is the more native in India by the way ?) You can extend your examples to many, many more countries and come to the conclusion that there won’t be many loyal people left in the world if we shares his logic. Maybe, he wants every Malaysian “others” to be like him – become a Muslim, marry a “native” wife and change name from “s/o” to “bin” and hooray, you are now accepted asa loyal Malaysian (or Malay ?).
See, the problem with this beautiful country is that we have too many leaders ( fortunately or unfortunately ?) who hold on to this conception of loyalty and nation building, and that’s why today, after fifty long years of nation building, ruling elites still talking, seeing, smelling, and reading and selling ” race” into every facet public policy. With this kind of leadership when will Malaysia ever become a Great country and to face the challenges of the century ? OMG !
the Great Tun’s, in his latest blog posting on concept of loyalty is that the immigrant races in Malaysia must speak the native language and adopt native culture before they can be considered loyal.
Okay, should all Sarawakian “immigrants” (Malays n Chineses) start wearing Iban dresses and speak Iban language and all Sabahan “immigrantsa” start waering kadazan dress and speak Kadazan..
Similarly, all white immigrants in New Zealand must adopt Maori culture and speak moari language. otherwise they are disloyal New Zealanders. Many more examples can be deduced from countries around the world, South America, Canada, and in Asia.
What do you say about a man who changed his name, and then fooled everyone by changing his birthdate and then who live in denial? Even Saddam was consistent.
Many of the things said by Tun lately are extremely seditious(much worse than Raja Petra’s) and could incite racial hatred. It’s incredible the govt even allowed him to do so and for numerous occasions. Anybody else would have gone to Kamunting.
I urge the govt not to tolerate his nonsense any longer.
To tell you the truth, I don’t bother to read what he said or even to read his blog. Bloody waste of time. He is like a monster creating fear to Malysians just for his personal agenda. Racial tension is cause by people like him. May Allah have mercy on us.
nat,
MAHATHIR IS NOT DEFENSIVE BUT OFFENCING FOR MALAYSIAN.
rajraman666.The SATAN also plays mahathir game to win some followers from his oppenent god.
Is TDM really saying he doesn’t understand the HINDRAF Memorandum. Their demands (from British Govnt.) will never be given. They wanted the Malaysian Government to take note of the Malaysian Indian Problem. They achieved more than that. PRU 12 proved that.
TDM is famous for distracting the public from the major issues during his premiership. He is famous for pitting one party against another. He is still doing it.
He quit the party he formed. Lingham Video is out of our memory. (I hope not!)
Param is issuing legally viable and sometime absurd (put TDM under ISA) solutions. How do you counter him? Bash him and those whom you dislike (namely the Indians).
That is what he is doing now.
I am always amused that many call him mamak! I hate such name calling. BUT when he officiated the opening of 1987 International Tamil Conference he said the only words he knows in Tamil are “engge valikkutu” (Where is the pain) (Pun not intended)
When the first Conference was held in KL during Tengku Abdul Rahman’s time, he memorised a wonderful Tamil phrase and said it during his opening ceremony.
TDM never liked the Indians. Maybe the millionaires are an exception.
Can anyone really believe that he is opposing Pak Lah because he is bringing down the nation? He will go to any length to get what he wants; deregistering the beloved UMNO was not of his concern. He just deregistered and reregistered another just to purge those whom he didn’t want and to put in place the very rules he dislikes now.
So the racial card is not new!
The racist Mamak (Mahathir) wrote for himself or paid people to write for his blog. That is how he is able to get that ‘many’ writers that is the true racist Mamak style. His children might have also being involved in it.
He should not be addressed as a Tun any longer now that it has revealed so much of the racist Mamak and especially for the many evils he has done. He is still hoping to instigate another May 13 to avoid being investigated. So please do not never ever call him ‘great’ what is he so ‘great’ about ?
Take the Tun-ship away from him, it is an insult to all the Tuns, do not even call him a Dato he has done anything good to deserve either titles !!!
UMNO needs a racist Mamak to be their President because they cannot find one true Malay from within the party or he make sure they are all dismissed from UMNO.
He once even paid the New Zealand Maori ,when he went there, a fair bit of money to research and to prove they are descendants of the Malay.
He even addressed them as their brothers how shameful. How could the Maori, be ever related !!!
He must be very disappointed that it turned out the research says they were descendants of Chinese. Anyway who has authorised that payment , UMNO or as usual himself- get him to refund the money – it was paid to the Maori illegally .
I have never ever heard him said or say anything good of anyone except himself, to him everyone who says and does anything against him is bad, everyone including his children.
By now he must realise that all his ’supporters’ were his ‘money supporters’ only when he had the power to give them favours or shall I say corruptions but to day his ‘money supporters’ remain at all his functions remain at only about 200. Besides how many of those were paid by his children to make up the numbers, compared these 200 ‘money supporter’ with the 40,000 people who attended the rally of his rival Anwar at Kampong Bahru?
What has the racist Mamak got to say about this or as usual he will say that the real number at that rally was only 40 instead of 40,000 ?
Be prepared racist Mamak for the retribution that is coming your way soon. A fatal heart attack as your retribution !!!
As a Malay I feel ashamed that we couldnt find anyone amongst ourselves to lead us and UMNO.
We needed to accept a Mamak from India to lead us and show us the way
When there’s no more opportunity to be offensive
There’s the turn for the chance to be defensive
Otherwise it’s the next signal to be divisive
Regardless if people are going to be responsive
