Royal Commission: Abdullah Throws First Stone in Glass House?
The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Lingam video clip has recommended that former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad be investigated under various laws for his role in the appointment of judges.
Other persons also named to face possible action are former chief justices Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim and Eusoff Chin, senior lawyer VK Lingam, former minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and business tycoon Vincent Tan.
In its 186-page report, the commission recommended that they be investigated under a slew of laws - Sedition Act, Official Secrets Act, Penal Code and obstruction of justice.
De facto law minister Zaid Ibrahim today said that the cabinet has directed the Attorney General’s Chambers to institute immediate investigations against the six.
Thus it begins! Perhaps justice may prevail after all.
I don’t support any prosecution under the Sedition or Official Secrets Acts, but by all means, use the other two.
Now we will have to see how Mahathir fights back against the first major review of illegal acts during his era. If the old man decides to get all sentimental and mushy about Umno, he’ll foolishly reserve his outbreaks for people like Anwar.
If he hits out at the people more likely really pushing this thing and responds with revelations of his own (he must have so many), Abdullah and goodness knows who else will be brought down together. If they go for broke and the stones really start flying, Malaysians will soon discover a lot about corruption in a very short period of time. Skeletons will have a field day :P Stay tuned!

Truth is indeed more stranger than fiction . What goes around , comes around !
That’s great news. Maybe.
Should I be surprised if the AG Chamber reports back with insufficient evidence” to warrant a prosecution?
That’s the standard line we hear these days.
It is still soon to expect the best out of this. Mukhriz is all out to force Pak Lah out. There is another development yesterday. Dr.M has met Najib and we do not know what transpired. Look at this way.. Dr.M convinces Najib to take on Pak Lah for presidency with his support. And if Najib wins he could interfere in AG’s prosecution of two cases. One being Altantuya and another the upcoming Judiciary fixing. Both Ex-PM and future PM could benefit. So to me it will be a case you scratch my back, i scratch your back. So, do you think it is going to be easy?
Ooohh.. I love this, Nat!! Nothing is better than seeing TDM punished finally!! I have been waiting for this day and cross my finger that him and his 5 thieves prosecuted!
GOD is THE GREATEST MASTERMIND…..We will see the implosion, self-humiliations and destructions of the Mother of All Perverts in UMNO and Barisal Nasional at large…and the days is getting with the writing clearly on the wall….Everyone Has To Pay For Their Decades of Decadence and Sins in Killing A Once Beautiful Tanahair Ku….JAHANAM UMNO!
I really don’t care if Dr M gets punished or not. All I want to see is that the Judiciary gets returned to the people and that we have a clean, independent, transparent, intelligent Judiciary; appointed by the people, accountable to the people.
This is to ensure that when any of us go to Court, we can be confident that we will have justice. Let’s not forget and be side tracked that this is our fundamental right and it supersedes any other consideration.
After that is returned we can do whatever the mob wants with the carcasses of this case.
I would like to add that to return the Judiciary to its former glory, the Government must take immediate steps to remove any of the Judges who are illegally appointed and have the new commission appoint the new independent judges.
If they fail to do this, they would be in contempt of the findings of the Commission.
Morning nat,
Do you think the AG going to prosucute this morons?
I will get old and senile by the time this case mention in court.
Its a poitical game unless Umnoputra no more in this “TAK AKAN MELAYU HILANG DALAM DUNIA?”
RAJRAMAN666.indians in malaysia slow and steady disapearing in Malaysia.
I would love to see the old goat in jail counting bars.
Did the Cabinet pass the buck to AG’s Chambers? Wayang kulit is still in play, methinks. Interesting how the media leaked OSA qualified tidbits before public dissemination of RC’s report on the Lingam inquiry. Is it to make sure said report will have to be made public? Is it a plot within a plot, a preemptive strike? Only a tiny shaft of light has shone on the glass house, I still see shadows everywhere. I am looking forward to light and more light from within the glass house, then we’ll know who’s throwing stones and at whom and whether it serves the purposes of justice in this country.
What is significant of all these developments is to reveal to all Malaysians that TDM is not as great to modern Malaysia as they were made to believe by the mainstream media. Many Msians see all the hardware and think falsely that TDM has brought much development to Msia, without realising that he has single-handedly destroy so much of our nation’s foundation to achieve his plans.
While building KLIA, Putrajaya, Petronas Twin Towers, one after another in 22 years, how many of our other priorities have been neglected? How much resources was siphoned off by cronies? How many able, well educated Msians (the “brains”) were drained away? We could have built double of KLIA, Putrajaya and Petronas Twin Towers if the government could retain all those Malaysians overseas.
But before all these…the AG must GO. It will be futile, him doing the investigation. He is easily “swayed” with…..u-know-what.
It’s about time justice is served.
Let’s not talk about “glasshouses”, the credibility of AG Gani Patel, or other matters. What’s haeppening is fate. Not destiny. As one of the commentors said, “what goes round, comes round”.
I shall enjoy watching Mr Mahathir in the docks for a change.
Just hope however, AAB and Co. are having the Special Branch and the Police keeping an eye on his goons. Mr Mahathir has contravened the Sedition Act once- too-often and in turn, the Federal Constitution, without having to pay the price. What more, dismantling national institutions like the Judiciary like his playthings.
Seems the Royal Commision is honest and impartial afterall and have done a profesional job. Seems to Malaysians as a whole are wiser and have more integrity than one Mr Mahathir who self deludes that he is omniscient and omnipotent; All-wise, all-knowing. Hah!
This would be a perfect time to use the ISA the minute any of his goons and hoodlums create trouble.
Mr Badawi, my hat off to you!
Let the show begin ….
Pardon my ignorance. Is cleaning up the Judiciary refer only to judges? What about the police and AG Chambers who are in cahoots with the puppeteers?
Are we just trying to polish one side of a rustry dirty coin and hope it is still legal tender?
Nothing will happen. Its just hot air. This is Malaysia Boleh. Believe you me, nothing will happen.
Mr Nat,
Whatever Mahathir had done, is the past. We want a better future, not dig up shit from the past.
You shout alot about Mahathir misdeeds.
Mahathir, is the dirtiest of all, but his deputy, your sugar daddy is the cleanest.
What about the immorality of your sugar daddy committing undemocratic acts, like inducing people to defect?
Defect, maybe oklah, but also with money?
http://malaysianinsider.com/mni/sabah-mp-crossover-for-real-via-defunct-party.html
”The level of discontent coincided with talk that Anwar had managed to convince some Sabah MPs to cross over to Pakatan Rakyat with promises of senior positions in the administration and more autonomy for the East Malaysian state. Since then, some BN MPs have come forward to say they have been offered millions of ringgit to switch political allegiance.”
your sugar daddy is corrupt, but you would say and do nothing right?……..
Mahathir’s past acts, you would not hesitate to comment, and bash him further. But, you sugar daddy is committing very dirty and immoral acts right now,,
why are you quiet?
Xmen24,
What is immoral about bringing down a morally repugnant govt. by defections?
Should Malaysians wait another 5 years while this BN govt. continue to rape and plunder the nation? There’s a danger the country will be left an empty shell.
Xmen, don’t talk about dirty, undemocratic and immoral acts if you can’t see the much dirtier, corrupted and immoral acts of the BN govt.
The one you’re defending is the worse of all. He destroyed all democratic institutions in the country and would not hesitate to buy over elected MPs with a wheelbarrowful of money or launch another Operation Lallang if he is in power.
Don’t make us vomit with your sanctimonious rubbish and defend the devil from your moral high horse. You disgust me!
‘What is immoral about bringing down a morally repugnant govt. by defections?”
Today it might seem right to bribe and defect. Tomorrow, it might seem right to rigg the elections
”Xmen, don’t talk about dirty, undemocratic and immoral acts if you can’t see the much dirtier, corrupted and immoral acts of the BN govt.”
Yes, BN is dirty. We want to kick them out. But lets do it democratically, not in a way that pakatan would look like no different than BN.
”would not hesitate to buy over elected MPs with a wheelbarrowful of money ”
Yes, he would not hesitate. If you can recall back, who was his frog hunter who grabbed Sabah frogs for Mahathir? Mr. Anwar bin Ibrahim. Now, he is extending his frog hunting skills to pakatan,
BN frog hunting is dirty, so is pakatan frog hunting.
No matter which side you are on, an immoral act is an immoral act.
