(other colour versions below, all done by Rikey)
update: mine is but a short scribble. for some really good analysis, check out polytikus!
Also, does anyone know about any vigils or such being planned?
Update: Ok, I think it’s quite confirmed - there should be people at Sg. Buloh from about 830/9 or so tonite; advice is to bring candles and umbrellas.
Well, we must respect the man’s decision, and continue defending responsible free inquiry.
I don’t think he’s in for a pleasant time, but anyone who’s read his writings knows that he goes in full aware, and with all guns blazing to defend his principles tooth and nail.
We stand with him.

i shall continue praying to God to keep him strong in prison, god bless Raja Petra
Do you think he will get a black eye?
Damn…

When you do what is right
You’re in for a good fight
You will stay in the light
In truth you never lose sight

God’s Love will always be with the bravery in justice!
People’s love will always there be with you too.
Continue with your justice and voices as we Malaysian with love will always be there to support you.
May all of us who want real justice pray for Raja Petra for his sacrifices.
RM5000 is not a problem, and RPK is making a statement by refusing to pay up. MT has started a RM1/person campaign, as a way to harness public support. I think all these are brilliant moves, with maximum effect of galvanising the people’s support and focus on the despairing Altantuya trial.
I for one support the campaign and you can visit it here: http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/7080/84/
Within hours, RM24,500 and USD3,284 has been collected!
I think M’sia will get lots of international publicity now that RPK refused bail. Brave RPK. Most people would have been intimidated. A strong statement has been sent to govt by RPK.
Guess who’s getting the black eye this time? RPK is a superhero. Try hitting him your fist will bounce off his beautiful botak head and dent your eyeball… so get your papers in order, Najib & Rosmah, you may soon be leaving on a long journey with no return ticket. Don’t worry… we won’t miss you!
Looking for a scapegoat to hide the truth is a wanton act with the hope to silent the bloggers on the whole. How wrong they have been. If those with the bad intentions have come out with such “collaboration” must be ready to pay the price. No wonder many still want the PM to stay on, so that the government will be weakened further.
Just think. Will Raja Petra, a man of his standing and calibre to utter nonsense? So this man has become a pain in the neck or rather to be feared from those who are guilty?
RPK ,
You showed the world that you are not just a blogger but a true blue blood royalty who’s principles are more than all of of the UMNO and it’s cohorts pooled together .
GOD BLESS YOU , YM RPK !
Anwar Ibrahim, Wan Azizah, Khalid Ibrahim
Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng
Hadi Awang, Nizar
If you are reading my post, I like to make a suggestion here,
Could you please direct all your respective state government agencies to post billboard pictures of RPK at every corner of the streets. Better still if you can post his pictures at every state government offices until his release from prison.
This is to show a small gesture of our appreciation and remind us of this big than life Towering Malaysian
Raja Petra Kamarudin
My dear RPK they did not use C4 on you. They used cc ways to prosecute you. I have donated some money to you. I pray for you The whole nation is behind you.
To those murderers, bloody bastard you!!!
I just cannot control my anger and disgust at the treatments you received for standing up against injustice.
BN government really screwed up this time.
Should the following person be charged for sedition as well?
a) Dr M for saying that Pak Lah is incompetent, and selecting him to be the PM is his big mistake?
b) Dr M for calling Najib a coward?
Hats off to RPK, cant imagine him spreading his ideas in jail and being allowed to campaign against all things evil even in prison, another St. Peter?, - ” the angels will shake the prison gates and free him”.
God is with him.
Remember Nelson Mandela?, prison cant change him.
RPK may be Malaysian first Nobel Peace Prize winner!!
Nat, I have a suggestion here. Many are raising funds for RPK now suggesting RM1 donation., equating to 5,000 people each giving RM1. That’s too easy.
I suggest RM0.01 or 1 sen per person, to show the government what type of support RPK has or what the masses think of the government’s actions.
Thats a cool half a million people.
I’d call the Campaign Fund as
“SAVE WHISTLE BLOWERS - SAVE RPK”
Excess funds to be used to defend whistle blowers in future!
Najib has always preferred to appear “cool’ on a lot of issues. But today in the news, he criticized the S’gor govt for not fulfilling their election manifesto promise to reduce cukai pintu.
Looks like he is trying to roar but it falls just short of a pathetic whimper.
Maybe he is uncomfortable that about where Altantuya’s killers are heading to.
You are a MAN, Bro RPK !
Standing up for what you beleive even during trial times. Refusing bail and accepting jail……..hats off for you dear RPK. You will be in our prayers. Long Live
YM Raja Petra Kamaruddin !
Persecution of the weak and innocent usually backfires.
Hidup RPK!
I hate this government! So f***cking wrong with this BN government. God, if you hear me, please curse those who puts RPK to jail. May you reserve a place in hell for them and let them rot there for eternity. That is for shrewing a man’s life, for his only mistake was to do your work.
I don’t understand this at all…
If he wants to make a principled stand by not paying bail, then why is it that his wife claims it’s because they don’t have the funds? And why is his defense team asking people to donate cash, and as soon as they have collected RM5k they will bail him out? I’m sorry, this doesn’t look like a principled stand to me. And I doubt it’s about the money :P
To me, it looks like a political stunt. Unless maybe his wife and defense team have misunderstood his intentions, and he really does intend to rough it out in jail for a while, even if not all the way until trial commences (October is it?). In that case, yes he deserves the highest respect.
But under no circumstances should the rakyat foot the bill for his bail, come on, there’s far better things that the people should contribute to. Contribute to Burma for goodness sake, I believe the junta has no choice but to accept aid now.
As for the idea that this is needed to galvanize support and whatnot, please galvanize support for the HINDRAF 5. They need help a lot more than RPK.
Anyway, all the best to RPK, I hope justice prevails.
INT- i think you got it all wrong..the RM 1 is about support, to show the gov how disgusted we are of them. PRK will still chooses to stay in jail. WHAT? Donate to Burma? Can’t believe you said that duh…?? You are a coward that does not stand for people that has already started the fight for you. We cannot put our hope on you know can we?
as for the najib and rosmah..i say put them on the stand like everybody else…why not? if they claim that they are innocent, we want to hear! using sedition act and your policeman to arrest is so passe’
where is raja petra blog? can’t find it. can anyone help?
Why also when RPK talks about mahathir, khairy or kamluddin he wasnt charged on THESE issues? Why when he touches on NAJIB, he terus kena charged? Why why why? Do you see what I’m implying here? Do you see who is behind these charges now?
When it’s a choice of jail over bail
The blogger’s brave guts we must hail
Though the path to full justice is no plain sail
We know ultimately truth and God’s justice will never fail

Wed. 7th May 2008.
For so long there has been a dying quest to look for role model, both historical & present, for the Malays in bolehland.
History had been distorted. Agreements sidelined. Constitutions reviewed. National coffer wasted. Worst - BTN championed twisted Malaysia nationhood.
For what?
Now look no further than Raja Petra Kamaruddin Of MT. This is the Towering Malay in the making!
Why free a man who’s already free? RPK has always been free. Do you think a few pathetic iron bars can encage a Man of Steel? Freedom is a spiritual condition. Physically, RPK may not be free to drive around town and have a beer with his mates. Perhaps RPK the self-made Master of his own Destiny is taking this golden opportunity to journey within and take a break from the incessant fray raging in political circles. Going into self-chosen seclusion and deep silence may be his way of detoxing, recharging and renewing himself - it will be an ascetic retreat sponsored by the federal government using public funds - but he will emerge glowing with even greater luminosity - just like Gandalf after wrestling with the Balrog and plunging into the abyss. Only, in this case, the Balrog is a monster of infinite darkness called BN.
Daulat Tuanku… Hidup RPK… The murderer”S” should be sent, burnt & rot in HELL…
I think the appropriate statement is “Drop the charge!” instead of “Free RPK” because he opts to be remanded, simply because he felt there is nothing in what he is doing.
RPK can do more outside than inside. We need him on the outside, where he can kick ass more effectively & efficiently. RPK, u made your point & you don’t need to stay in jail long. Take the money that comes your way & get out, please, sir.
Vigil outside Sg Buloh Prison tonight (07/05) 9 pm..
more info on Susan Loone’s and Din Merican’s blogs.
Praying for u, RPK.
To the murderers of Altantuya,
Your time will soon come …
LONG LIVE YANG MULIA RPK !!
