Balkis -> Bakti -> ?

It occurred to me, as they dissolve these associations in a super sketch fashion and funnel the money to Bakti, what happens if Pakatan truly takes over the federal government? Who to transfer funds to then? Or will it all be spent en masse these coming months? :P :)

Why was there RM9.9million sitting in the coffers?
Do charity organizations sit on THAT much of money at one time?
Or was there a recent donation drive?
    Please qualify =)
    Thank you.

This apparent breach of trust by the leadership of Balkis should be immediately and thoroughly investigated. Any evidence of breach or abuse of power should be severely punished irrespective of who the person involved is. There should absolutely be no let up on this matter. The Selangor state government must act without any further delay. let us all work together to eradicate any and all forms of abuse and corrupt practice.

  • Rachel,

According to MK article on Penang version of Balkis – PBT, their sources of income include “an annual grant of RM10,000 from the state government, … fund-raising events and advertisements in PBT publications”. Since PBT last had a whopping RM590,665 in balance, the last two sources are apparently significant but certainly fishy. Who would pay large sum of money to advertise in their publications which are supposedly small in circulation??? It opens up to be an avenue for repaying patronage, for instance. ;-)

    Zurena,

Article 5 of (PBT’s) constitution states: ‘Ordinary Members are to be made up of wives of (state assemblypersons) and MPs of Penang, except for those from the opposition’. The solution for them seems to be a simple change to their constitution. But they chose to dissolve it, I guess primarily because their sources of income have become impossible. :)

    Nat,

Worst thing that can happen to Bakti (or any other similarly funds siphoning machinery of BN) is they start to manage their funds offshore, a la money laundering. Let’s pray Msia’s corrupt elite will not degenerate to that extent.

They (BN) have not right to transfer money out just like that . The monies belong to the country and the Rakyat, not just selected Rakyat ,let alone family members .

Greed and arrogance have clearly gotten to their heads. AS you can see the federal government have put in motions plans to stiffle the growth of these so called opposition states like Kedah, Penang, Perak , Selangor and Kelantan. The latter have suffered alot by being in the opposition hand.

I really would want to see devine intervention at work to make them see that what they are doing is wrong. Pak Lah for one has managed to fool everyone by being so called MR clean and religious. But his actions clearly shows his materialistic and corrupted side. HE has zilch leadership skills and his comprehension of complex issues is terrible. HE is just ketua kampung material.WHat he is doing now is bad for the country.

    God help us !!!!

Donations to organisations like BAKTI n BALKIS are tax exempt. One of the precondition for tax exemption is that such organizations must be apolitical. Thus, BAKTI and BALKIS must be apolitical. The actions and intentions of BALKIS are not apolitical. BALKIS is in clear violation.

as long as there’s no statement being put down on the table about the issue, we can only speculate and not know for sure. So what’s the point of making so many judgements? we’ll wait and see.

    faith,

it’s unfair that you ar dragging pak lah into this. He is not responsible for actions of corrupted members, they are responsible for acting the way they are. Yes, pak lah made a mistake before about not taking matters to hand, but let him rectify the problem now that he realized his mistake.

    -peace to the people-
