Syed Hamid sends ambassadors on diplomatic suicide missions

Looks like the world isn’t buying the bullshit they spew on NST and RTM - Foreign Minister Syed Albar is getting his ambassadors to go and peddle more spin direct to foreign ministries.

Looks like the government is on the run :)

I don’t envy those ambassadors. They are going to have to sell the unsellable, and face a crowd that will be doing their best not to laugh in their faces.

When you go out there to fight your fight, it really helps if you have truth on your side. People trying to persuade foreign governments that police are exercising restraint against a group of violent protestors…. well, don’t.

So good luck to the ambassadors on walking out of there with your credibility intact - don’t be surprised if you hear some snorts and laughter on your way out :)

  1. Our Ambassadors do not have much choice. They have appointed to lie for the country. This is what Syed Hamid is trying to tell them to do. In reality, they cannot deny the fact that democracy in Malaysia slowly dying because the government by the consent of the governed is putting its own nationals under the ISA.

Listen to the concerns of your people, deal with their problems, and conduct yourself in an examplary manner, Mr Badawi, and you can be assured of a place of respect in the annals of Malaysian history. Otherwise, infamy awaits you.

  2. Our Ambassadors are being asked to lie and tell the world that Malaysia is a democracy. Good luck to them.

  3. i think our government is seriously underestimating how much the world already knows about this country and its government!

Do they think that our ambassadors can do any damage control now…they really are arrogant or fools i don’t know which but the way i see it either way the world has already come to know that we people of this country refuse to take any more injustice ..we refuse to lie down and take any more of their crap!

  4. Syed Hamid,

Go sell your ISA shit to the global community.

Go sell your police brutality against peaceful protesters.

Go sell all your lies, corruption and racism to the world.

    Cowards.

  5. I urge all Malaysians and also outsite thoese Malaysia to stand up and launch a campaign to challenge Malaysian governments’ unjust laws and call for the release of HINDRAF leaders immediately.

    Economics boycott??

  6. Anyone can help me to contact HINDRAF leaders or their associates asap please?

I strongly condemned the arrest of five HINDRAF leaders under the ISA.

I wanna support and join their advocacy works to challenge Abdullah’s government and its unjust laws and discriminatory policies.

Economic pressure is effective in persuading governments to change, when reasoned arguments alone do not suffice.

The power is in our hands to help our brothers and sisters in this country, who have no power. The time to make a stand against injustice is now.

They are fully deserving of our support. Time to stand up together to end the government persecution based on race, religion, sexual orientation and injustice.

The democracy system is totally broken.

P.S. I am Chinese and living in the U.S. now.

    Thank you.

  7. Ever heard the last straw that broke the camel’s back? Well we are seeing it in Malaysian, the goverment has lost all respect from the “rakyat”. Everything that the government propogates about fair govt, transparency and all that crap…..has come down now.

What credibility does the governmnent has now to send their embassadors to redeemed their pride and honour. All hell has broke loose…..u have failed even in championing the basic individual right….

Inspite of taking the necessary action to assist the poor and needy…they imprison those who highlight the layman flight for help.

Today is my sadest day as I feel no honour being a malaysian……….

  8. PM Badawi says that public safety is more important than public freedom. He also regularly says that he has his BIG ears to listen to all the “rakyat”s problems. He also promised to combat corruption and many more. but when the “rakyat” speak up, he says that they are not using the proper channel to air their problems.

Just in four years, Mr Badawi i’ve completely lost confidence in ur leadership and the government. More that ever in my life, i hear almost everyday ppl cursing the government and its ministers which means something very seriously WRONG is in the making. and the latest blow to it was the usageof ISA on 5 HINDRAF leaders. for heaven sake Mr Badawi, you are just adding flame to the already frustrated and angry Malaysians.

I just feel so sad for the human rights in Malaysia. What an embarrasment for Malaysia when such law is still being implemented and freedom of peaceful assembly is traded off with public safety in a country which is a signatory of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights.

Sorry to say this, but it looks like we are going backward instead of progressing forward.

  9. hey Nat….i finally got it, i think. i finally got what the powers-that-be mean when they talk about public safety- when they say that the ISA arrests are necessary for the sake of public safety.
for the longest time i’ve been wondering what on earth they were talking about. what public safety? certainly not mine…i’ve been mugged, slashed, caused to be on crutches for weeks when attacked by snatch thieves while walking the distance of one car. my maid was robbed at knife-point, my house was burgled twice, my friends have to re-do their i.c’s because some motorcyclist bashed their windscreens at traffic lights and elsewhere ppl are getting murdered or kidnapped, or both (Nurin?) or raped……
i’ve been wondering about how the criminals would have had their hey-days recently when even less policemen are out to watch for criminals and criminal intents whilst most of them were deployed to terrorise ……sorry, i mean protect, the protesters from bersih or the hindraf gatherings.
i for one don’t feel safe walking, or now even driving around anywhere. so how am i or my fellowmen being protected?
and then when i read that pm said that public safety is more important than public freedom, voila! it suddenly dawned on me what he actually meant, and then it made sense.
the public safety he is talking about is not your safety or mine…..that public safety is BN safety……and BN safety is more important than public….this time you and i the rakyat…safety.
and yes! the hindraf and bersih rallies are indeed a threat! a threat to BN safety!…..that public=BN is what he meant!
so BN safety is more important than our safety
BN safety is more important than our freedom to voice our views and our dissent

and when i realised how the word public is sometimes interchangeable with the word BN, other things became clear as well
soon after i got mugged, my deputy minister of internal security (does he speak for his boss?) stated in the papers that “snatch thieves are the fault of the ‘public’ . women carry expensive handbags.”..incidentally my bag was one i used to carry essentials when i go for sports activities and it cost rm80…..my response then was : ya-lah. fault of the public …our fault to vote in ministers or deputies who can come out with statements like that.
but now, now it makes a lot of sense if you interchange the word ‘public’ in his statement to the word ‘BN’ , then you get that snatch thiefs are the fault of the BN……and as long as BN does little to protect and arrest the real criminals…the thieves, robbers, molesters, murderers,,,,,the real ones who actually commit the crimes, not the hindraf supporters who purportedly ‘attempted’ murder…..the ‘other’ public, you and i , will never be safe and never be protected.
the BN will be too busy saving their a**es under world and other public’ scrutiny ….. and hopefully under the greatest scrutiny of the rakyat public that goes to the polls for the next GE. so that the next time we will not be at fault for voting in somebody who makes a stupid statement like snatch thieves being the fault of the public!
