I can’t say I agree with this Malaysiakini headline: “PAS slams Hindraf, accusations ‘extreme’”
Having seen said statement in full, it’s obvious that they did not unequivocally support Hindraf, but I think their stance was not unreasonable. I found some parts a bit odd, no doubt, but on the whole, I thought it was ok, considering the line they have to tread.

PAS sekali lagi menegaskan pendiriannya bahawa semua pihak seharusnya diberikan hak dan kebebasan untuk berhimpun dan bersuara sebagaimana yang dijamin dan diperuntukkan oleh Perlembagaan Persekutuan.
Sesungguhnya kejadian diskriminasi kaum bukan hanya berlaku terhadap masyarakat India malah turut berlaku dikalangan masyarakat Cina dan Melayu khasnya yang menyokong parti-parti pembangkang. Malahan terbukti pimpinan dan ahli-ahli MIC tertentu memperolehi habuan yang lebih baik dari bangsa Melayu sendiri yang menyokong parti-parti pembangkang.
PAS mempertahankan perlunya perpaduan kaum terus dikekalkan dalam negara ini dan sebarang isu yang dicetuskan untuk menghasut sentimen mana-mana kaum samada India, Melayu ataupun Cina hendaklah ditolak.
PAS menganggap sebahagian tuntutan dan tuduhan pihak HINDRAF adalah melampau dan dengan ini menuntut agar pihak kerajaan segera menubuhkan badan bebas untuk menyiasatnya. PAS dengan ini menyeru seluruh rakyat Malaysia agar tidak terpengaruh dengan mainan pihak media yang didalangi oleh Umno dan Barisan Nasional yang cuba mencetuskan ketegangan kaum bagi tujuan meraih undi rakyat dalam pilihan raya umum yang akan datang. Akhirnya yang menjadi mangsa adalah rakyat dan pimpinan parti-parti pembangkang sebagaimana semasa “Operasi Lalang” tahun 1987 dahulu.

If you change” melampau” to “berat” or “serious” then Mkini title is wrong.

When the PM, the judiciary and opposition members were sleeping in Francis Udayapan case. Nazri spoke on behalf of the mother. Yes, the opposition spoke but was there a follow up?
The same here when he said the demolition was stupid and insensitive. He is trapped between his conscious and UMNO.
We must remember a surau is a place where muslim gather to pray but a temple is a place where the god resides for hindus. I am not saying that make surau less important but it appears there are no people in authority to understand about other religion sensitivity.
Otherwise, how could government department slaughter a cow infront of a Hindu? My father was a government servant and he got to put up with it in silence. So too the MIC MP when the same thing happend in the Parliament But then when I want a dog I need my neighbours consent.
Ask your PKR’s partner PAS to show how different they are going to be from UMNO. And I was just thinking what Anwar said ” since PAS did not raise Islamic state issue lately, therefore there no reason to talk about it”. That’s speaking with forked tongue.

I have one case of MCA attacking PAS by blatantly making misleading statement. The tactic, by Dato Ong Ka Chuan, MCA’s secretary general, is basically misquoting some Harakah article on the issue of Malacca pig farmers. Subsequently Merdeka Review (a Chinese news site) published an article referring to that MCA article. So I had no choice but to point out that MCA article that was done in bad faith.

The young are exposed to cruelty when their witness cow slaughtering every year during festivity ! What will they grow up with then ? Will they care for sensitivity of others , let alone humanity of life being ?
HINDRAF begged for attention at one time…so many letters, so much waiting. Finally HINDRAF realised that the way to get quick attention is a stab at the heart, and that’s what they did, that’s what they got…ATTENTION!!!
Do you blame them for that…or should we blame ourselves for being at the comfort zone??
We will not be discussion Indian issues here if not for the “questionable” petition and the rally. PERIOD!!!
