Lawyer P Uthayakumar was arrested this morning under the Sedition Act and taken to the Shah Alam district police headquarters.
He was arrested at his legal firm in Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur at about 10.30am.

Najis said the traders and shoppers complained to him that their business was affected by BERSIH having their rally at the Batu Road area.
But isnt business affected by police causing jams all over Kuala Lumpur since yesterday [ Thursday ] to prevent Indians from entering KL to plead with HRH Queen Elizabeth, she being the Head of the Commonwealth.
People are fed up by these double standards of the BN and UMNO. If any Indian is attacked on Sunday, Samy Vellu will be taken to task as news is spreading that he’s getting some gangsters from MIC to make trouble on Sunday.
UMNO is so afraid. the non-indians in malaysia needs to walk with our indian brothers now.

if the election is a fair one, i am so sure we would have 120 opposition MPs in Paliament today and there would be some fairness in the system.

indians shud be thankful that ur allowed to be malaysian citizen.theres more indonesians in malaysia than indians.imagine what would happen if goverment gave indian rights to indons.. did u know that theres no 1 indian with more than 4 generations in Malaysia? meaning…ur new in malaysia..but look at how things are going.how many indians are rich.even if they are not..they live happily.u can go to schools,go buy grocery feeling safe n not hated..not getting shot at. the election is near..and all this racism issue is juz another trick to woo voters. last time oppositions put hate into mahathirm..when paklah took over bn won with 90%majority. n now they are finding another reason..and thats racism.so why dont evrybody stop talking bout sensitive issues and start living in harmony.everybody is trying their best to do evrything forr evrybody.but going to the streets and rally is not Malaysia…thats INDIAN,or ARABS..or wutever..we malaysian sit down n talk..and ask.why dont u make a rally in front of samy vellus place..he is the one who shud be doing the talking…so why dont WE..live happy..live free…say no to racism.
