Is it right to take out frustrations against Umno on MCA?

So much to write on!

Especially on the Umno physical assault on journalists and the latest UPM victim, and not to mention all the other big stuff in the last day or so.

In the meantime, I’ll have to take the easy way out and do a quick comment on something Chua Soi Lek said. China Press via Malaysiakini:

In the same China Press report, Chua, who is also MCA vice-president, urged Chinese voters not to take out their frustrations on Umno by voting for DAP.

He said many Chinese had the wrong perception that the government is a ‘Malay government’ and that a vote for DAP would represent the voice of the Chinese community.

“This (kind of perception) can cause ethnic tension and would lead to another May 13 (racial riot) incident,” he added.

You know, the way they go on about it, you’d think that May 13 was the best damn thing that ever happened to MCA.

Isn’t that a horrible thought?

But it’s true isn’t it? The sceptre of the riots could account for more than half the votes MCA gets. The other half probably come from being able to share some of the (incredibly small, percentage wise) monetary spoils that invariably comes from kissing Umno ass.

And that’s the point, isn’t it?

Dr. Chua’s argument of not taking out frustrations against Umno on MCA would only make sense IF MCA actually had even the slightest track record in successfully controlling the rotten excesses of Umno.

History has proven time and time again that MCA is far too weak and cowardly to do anything but smile sheepishly, say “err…” and look at their feet whenever Umno is out there threatening all Malaysians with violence and going on a rampage of discrimination and hateful bigotry.

Nobody believes the illusion that MCA is some great champion of the Chinese that can truly stand up to Umno.

The few that might are all card carrying MCA members. And heck, I even know some card carrying members who can’t bring themselves to believe it anymore.

Simple test case: let’s see what MCA can do or say about the Umno member who punched the Guangming Daily photographer. Will they come to the front and criticise this culture of violence?

People know that the only ones with guts to stand up to Umno are all well outside BN: KeADILan, DAP and even Pas for that matter.

It’s true. Look beyond all the negative spin, and I would take Pas over MCA any day of the week to truly stand up and speak the truth in defending justice, equality and integrity for any Malaysian.

One can be relied on to defend the dignity of all humans, the other to sell it bit by bit for some cheap trinkets.

And the last I checked, DAP, like the other opposition parties, is supposed to represent the voice of the Malaysian community, not just the Chinese one. I guess MCA has a one track mind about these things.

Not only has MCA completely failed to moderate Umno, it has been complicit in some of its worse crimes.

It isn’t Mahathir’s or Abdullah’s signature on the PKFZ documents that cost the rakyat RM 4.6 billion of its hard earned money – it’s Ling Liong Sik’s and Chan Kong Choy’s.

The only time BN leaders truly cross racial lines and unite is in robbing the people.

Anyway, these are all things I’ve said many times before.

But think about it, if the BN candidate in your constituency is a MCA person, no matter how good the individual is, you have to look beyond race and think about the bigger picture.

BN will “defend” the rights of (elite) Malays, Chinese and Indians (to steal from poor Malays, Chinese and Indians). But there will never be real Chinese rights until there are real Malaysian rights.

And there will never be real Malaysian rights as long as BN reigns.

The sad truth is that an MCA candidate is duty (and rice bowl) bound to never so much as give a dirty look to or say a negative word against with Kerishamuddin, One Eyed MP Said Yusof (Jasin), notoriously sexist Badarudin (Jerai), Zakaria Mat Deros, Zam and the rest of that unholy, shameless pack.

They never have, and they never will.

As long as you vote BN, those inepts will never, ever, be punished or sanctioned in any way.

Umno will rule with complete and utterly arrogant impunity as long as BN rules.

I completely agree that the opposition has to field credible candidates as well, and not expect people to vote in morons just out of frustration with BN. Those credible candidates are out there, so please give them a chance.

All other component parties and representatives have been lapdogs for 50 years, and they’ll be lapdogs for another 50 if you keep voting them in.

Set your politicians free, and set Malaysia free.

True, true, true, well said Nat.
The stinking status quo will remain until there is truly freedom of expression and thinking by all the political parties which comprise the Great Satan which is BN.
Voters should vote not along racial lines but in such a way which will kick out as many festering BN candidates as possible.
Arrogant and Corrupt UNMO rules the roost, and MCA, MIC , and the other smaller running dog BN component parties help the UMNO led BN strip Malaysia and it’s citizens of their wealth, freedom and rights.
The rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer, this will continue until BN is driven from power.
Save Malaysia, do not vote BN.

  • Its not only engaging to read but it is also true to the last letter. I salute you.

The BN has been threatening May 13 every time the GE
    is around the corner.
It’s like an extortionist who threaten violence if you don’t
    give in to his demand!
The voters have been giving in to such demands for the
past fifty years and look where it has gotten us!
There is no need to elaborate, everyone knows that
this country has gone to the dogs, especially during the
last quarter century and that’s a very long time.
As for having so much to write on, that much is also true.
With a government like this there is enough fodder to feed
the writing skills of bloggers for the next fifty years!
