ignore rumours – BERSIH Rally is ON!!

Update, 3.15pm: Pengumuman BERSIH: Jika Dataran Merdeka ditutup esok anda diminta kumpul di Sogo, Masjid Negara, Masjid Jamek, Pasar Seni dan tunggu isyarat pemimpin.

*

Siva called to say that there’s a heckuva lot of malicious sms’es, e-mails and goodness knows what going around saying that the rally has been postponed, cancelled, etc.

NOT TRUE.

Aren’t these feeble attempts pathetic?

Please help battle the misinformation!!

Spread the word that the rally is still on. Post in on your blog, send out an sms, everything!

Lat also wanted to get the word out that there will be lawyers from the Bar Council Human Rights Committee on standby to deal with matters should there be any arrests, etc that happen.

These are good guys to have watching your back :)

More on this to come.

BTW, amongst the many great blogs on this, Zorro and Mahaguru have interesting takes on the royal angle, and Lulu has had a long series about the march. Ginie meanwhile has some tips on logistics.

And if you haven’t got a Malaysiakini account, do get one. I’m sure they’ll be providing good coverage.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim & all Bersih Spporters,
I used to be your strong supporter. But Now I think your effort to gather support through Bersih is not really Bersih. It is a waste of time and does not receive enough support from Malaysians in geral. Just gorget about this thing and focus on your family and other things that may benefit others. I am not supporting you, bros! Not this time. Assuming that previous elections have been rigged and unfair, I don’t think you oppositions are going to win even though this upcoming election is done according to your requirements. This Bersih Rally is for disgruntled non-Malays who wants to take control of ths countries. DO NOT FALL OR IT!

  • Harry

    Bersih Rally = Gay Rally

All you homos are suposed to be in jail by now.

Hey! I am not even an UMNO member and I am sick down to my stomach just by knowing such a movement exists. Bersih konon! Mana ada besih. Tipu saja. Hipokrit. PIIIIIIIRRRRAAAAAAHHHHH!

nat: hahaha, are you kidding me? :)

    Disagreed with Harry.

“This Bersih Rally is for disgruntled non-Malays who wants to take control of ths countries. DO NOT FALL OR IT!”

There you, and other people go again. Always about taking control of the country. We do not want that. We just want to make Malaysia a fair country to live in. I fully support the Bersih rally, without siding to any party in terms of “kulit”-fication or religion. It’s not about who controls who. It’s about being fair and whatnot.

    And by the way.

    “Bersih Rally = Gay Rally

All you homos are suposed to be in jail by now.”

That just showed that you have an IQ of say, 50? How immatured can you get?

  • Harry

    RagnaParadise,
Personal attack on my IQ is beyond the scope of this forum but if it makes you feel better which I believe is to complement your “hollier than thou” attitude which seems to be a problem with most opposition people, well you can say whatever you want. After all this is a free democratic country, right?

  • haha

harry… when you said you were not an umno member you really had us fooled there. Yeahhh i am sure you are not one of them… uhuh.. yup… Seriously where did you store all the ill gotten money you amassed over the years?.. Come on dont be shy. share a bit le…If people can get away by building mansion, bombing a poor girls with c4, brokering judges, and buying a car jack for rm5700 , then i am sure a non-umno member like you no need to worry over a few million bribery money right.. hahaha .. and ohhh “hollier than thou” … good one there.. nice big word.. you must be realllyyyy smart… hmmm are you a meber of the mensa association?

  • Harry

Haha! That’s Mensa Society to you my friend. I don’t hate UMNO but I hate their members. Ptooi! Ptooi!. I also pernah kena tembak dengan tear gas near Mesjid Negara on 19.09.1999, when Anwar was heading the crowd to hand the a memorandum to the then Yang DiPertuan Agong. Same thing happened la. At first I thought this Bersih group was worth joining after all it’s NGOs’ effort and such, with no political interest just to ensure that fair election will be carried out. Good for the rakyat, good for everyone. But after that, I came to know that Lim Kit Siang, Anwar, Karpal Singh, PAS are all behind this. So I got turned off la… Potong setim saja. Itu semua poltician ada agenda sendiri punya. Not this time la, friend. So, how was the tear gas, lockup and water cannon? LOL!

    Harry,

I beg to differ. Well not the first part, but about the free democratic country part. I mean, seriously, if this was a free democratic country, there wouldn’t be laws like ISA which limits the freedom of speech in Malaysia.

Honestly, I don’t really care if they’re politicians, doctors, students or even monkeys. Bersih’s objective is to strive for fair elections. If you don’t know about it, every worker in your city/town hall is required to cast a vote on Barisan Nasional. Otherwise there’d be things like pay cut or even losing your job. I believe there might be quite a number of the group wanting to vote for the Opposition, but unable to do so because laws were set up to make sure that BN will forever dominate most of the seats in the Parliament. I guess that’s what Bersih is all about. It’s not just a way of winning votes by the Opposition, it’s to allow the Rakyat to vote whoever they like, be it BN, PAS or DAP. That’s real democracy: people have the freedom to choose whatever they like.

    Just my two cents. XD

Just focusing our family, our work…especially our country k…
