Things have been crazy, in many ways.
Work wise, with CJ-gate, Nurin and so on, there’s been a glut of work. Malaysiakini has been getting quite an increase in subscriptions I think :)
Nonetheless, it’s important not to forget some other, slightly less glamorous things, that are going on. I’ll do my best to summarise what little I can.
- The Sujatha murder: Police recently ‘wrapped up’ their investigations. The circumstances of her death were extremely suspicious. Remember the question: Who was her doctor?
- Najib’s navy boats: Check out KeADILan writer Kim Quek’s article – his well-researched work is usually quite damning.
- Nuri crashes: The recently concluded ‘investigation’ blamed pilot failure :| I blame Najib for being more interested about planes and submarines (read: commissions) than upgrading equipment that has killed almost a hundred brave servicemen. How many more hundred must die before replacing these death traps become a priority for Najib?
- PGCC: Anil Netto has been blogging consistently on this. Looks like another white elephant mega project.
- Muslim Workers Union: This is disgusting divide and rule tactics at its very worst. They’re trying to split up the ever growing MTUC by pandering to the ugliest form of divisiveness.
- Migrant workers: There was this issue of a huge number of Bangladeshi workers being trapped in horrible conditions in KLIA because their employers failed to pick them up. Thankfully, the local NGO scene sprung into action to help alleviate the various sufferings being caused. I think bangkit.net had some updates.
- Ibans in Sarawak are also getting a raw deal from cops, corporations and thugs: all apparently on the same side.
Anyway, the point is, we gotta keep track of everything, and not let these ‘smaller’ evils pass us by.
So much going on.
I’ll be perfectly honest, burnout is starting to creep in :P
But have to press on I guess… just hope I get some sort of a shot in the arm soon! :)

hi nat – 100% agree with you. i remember during the reformasi time there were so many articles flooding the net… most of it i cant find again.
if your troop can setup a net archival system that would be great… there’s one site that details the mega projects of dr m with pictures showing the building of putrajaya against other dictator cum megalomania mansion… also there was a breakdown on how big banks are being swallowed systematically by smaller bank with the government help..
all these make interesting read but most of all it should be archive for reference and become the unofficial history of Malaysia in the times of megalomanic rule.
I hope it’s not the kind that comes with a lengethened prison stay.
And I kinda find it amusing to read your post title after writing a post with a similar title.
don’t give up. rest if you need, but dont give up.
if not for blogs, malaysiakini and malaysia-today,
i can still feel something is wrong with the economy but i would not be able to pinpoint why.
thanks to u guys, (RPK, LKS, Ronnie, Jeff, Rocky, Zorro, Eli, Li Tsin, Sang Kelembai and etc) i would still be reading the govt love stories aka. The Star.
when im back in kl, belanja you makan for your hardwork:) cheers!
Hi Nat,
When was your last holiday? You do seriously need to consider take time off for yourself, by taking periodic retreat, just to be by yourself, to allow your spirit its rest and reorientation, to keep yourself fresh and renewed by what you are called to.
Listen to Elvis, he is soothing to the soul ; ) Seriously! He is. I discovered him only now 30 years after he had pass on. Well, to be honest my growing pain years were filled with the likes of madonna, bananarama, rick ashley, and lionel richie. But Elvis IS the King.
Take care man. Don’t want to see you end up a pile of jello ; )
Cheers
Nat,
With all these happening one after another, (and yet more to come )…. burnout is an understatement. :)
