Warming up to Ijok – busy times ahead!

I’m afraid I don’t have any detailed analysis post-Machap right now, sorry to disappoint – for one thing, there’ve been too many things going on in my head (but in a good way). I took too many pics, so will take a while to sort, but politikus and freelunch have some really good ones :) In short, it was a bit of a bummer, but the fight is far from over.

Ijok!

The initial, ridiculously excited euphoria generated by this upcoming trial by fire is ever so slowly transforming into the level-headed, goal oriented focus needed to bring about a solid win (none of this ‘aiming to reduce the majority’ bullshit).

Again, a bit too preoccupied to write anything really articulate on the matter. This particular battle will be fought on the ground mostly, so insyallah, that’s where I’ll try to focus the energies, while attending to party duties that must go on.

As per the ‘new’ direction of this blog however, I’ll at least write what I’ve been working on :P :)

I turun padang on Friday with Shamsul Iskandar, Yusoff (sp?) and Jonah (the two men with backs to camera are our local warriors). My first time, there and it was a good trip to slowly start getting familiar with the ground. I think that’ll be an important aspect of the early campaigning stages – really getting to know the constituency.

We managed to stop by two bilik gerakan’s, and talk at length about what was going down – seemed like we had good people down there, every ready to fight the good fight.

Sorry there’s no juicy bits about candidacy, etc.. Gotta keep the eyes on the prize.

Quick note: Shamsul mentioned a project that I’m very keen to undertake. Details to come, but it involves trying to enliven Malaysian political culture in a more participatory way, and trying to widen the circle of people ready to be a part of change in Malaysia. Especially after the kabinet rakyat bottleneck for which I’m mostly responsible, I’m really hopeful to for this to be rolling by mid to late May. Stay tuned!

Had a lovely weekend with politikus :) Look what we got!

I’m hoping it’ll help in the battle of Ijok :) Next in my bankruptcy project is a simple Bluetooth-ready phone that will keep me from screwing things up due to scatter-brainedness.. :P (prob Nokia, maybe 6085, any suggestions?)

Ok for now, I do hope you’ll indulge me in the busy days ahead where I expect I’ll be pretty preoccupied – I’ll try to post up whatever I can!

Also: quick shout out to some new, increasingly regular commentors, whose readership I truly appreciate – Brian, Zewt, John and Rikey :) Even deeper appreciation to older stalwarts of this blog, it’s really always nice to see you guys :D

  • Hehe, thanks mate! Unfortunately, I think you spelled my website’s URL wrong… :p

  • Hey! Don’t get TOO tied up with your work to stop updating? To some of us this site is our only source of getting inside information on the actual preperations PKR are doing for the by-elections….surely if PKR is transparent they will allow, or even encourage you to let the blogosphere know of their true and honest intentions? =)

  • john: fixed! sorry, see what i mean about being scatter brained?

jazzi: thanks for the kind words :) yah, we really hope to be at the forefront of transparency. we just have to know where to draw the line between openness and battling out internal party politics in the media and such – which i think is detrimental to the cause. what about you?

also, the pkr internal communications network probably needs a bit of work too, so a small party machai like me certainly doesn’t always know what’s going on :P :) but i try my best to keep abreast, and in turn, i’ll try my best to keep everyone else up to date :)

in fact, i just remembered a little bit more stuff i wanted to write.. soon i hope! :)

ps- jazzi: thansk for sitting thru all 40 mins of DSAI’s speech, well done you!! :)
