PNSB-Acmar on Blacklist of Developers with Abandoned Projects
(Updated Sunday night: Mr. P’s well taken pictures from his visit to Kg Berembang on Sat night are now up. They’re really good, please do have a look - they really illustrate how Malaysians have been made refugees in their own land, all within a stones throw from luxury)

(Kg Berembang situation update, Saturday night: Mr. P tells us that the access road was not completely destroyed; MPAJ had put up dirt walls/barriers, which were subsequently plowed through by the villagers, who are now using both generators and fires to illuminate the place at night. Mr. P said the overall effect makes it look like a war zone :( )

This tip off comes from politikus actually, full credit to the tikus!
Have a look at the Selangor MB’s web page of blacklisted developers with abandoned projects. Look under ‘Projek Komersial’, developer No. 8. :|
Refresher: PNSB = Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad = the state’s development arm. PNSB-Acmar = a joint venture company with Acmar International = the people who own Perspektif Masa and Cahaya Kelang Construction Sdn Bhd = the people ultimately behind the ‘development’ (read inhumane, cruel destruction) of Kampung Berembang (see here for simple proof).
This is the people who Selangor and its ever corrupt local councils (MBPJ, MPSJ, MPK..) have chosen to backup with violent force? People on their own blacklist of people who can’t get the job done right? Ordinary decent folk are having their houses burnt and houses of worship torn down so that some half past six developer can half build some shoddy shacks of his own? Shame, shame, shame.

JERIT has come up with both an extensive backgrounder on the confrontation between the villagers, the developers and the authorities as well as a sample police report that you can make regarding police intimidation and abuses of power on the 30th November.

Haven’t finished my ‘photo essay’ project on the 30th November demolitions (suraus and all), but hope to soon. In the mean time, all the raw pictures are available here - thanks to obwique!
