Malaysian FRU/Police tsunami; HUMANITARIAN APPEAL; video of how authorities spend time and resources
Approx stats that were relayed to me:
500 Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) and Police
470 Villagers
10-20 out of 60+ houses demolished
1 twenty four year old girl/villager who was hit (by the police?) in the scuffle and is now in a coma at the nearby Gleneagles Hospital.
1 fifteen year old was arrested and detained.
:|
There has been an appeal for TENTS, food, clothing and basic supplies for the villagers who have had all their belongings destroyed in the demolition and are now left under the rain with no shelter.
Those kind enough to contribute support in this difficult time can contact Encik Hamzah, who will be coordinating some of the aid, at 019 249 2065.

Remember the outpouring of sympathy in the aftermath of the tsunami and earthquakes? Malaysia no need national disaster, we all got FRU :(
So now Agenda Melayu includes destroying little kampungs (reportedly heavy Umno supporters ironically) only a few minutes from PWTC? The villagers had reportedly just received acknowledgement of a plea they had sent to the PM’s office. Like that I also won’t be comforted or reassured by any of the PM’s acknowledgements :(
And all this because the developers couldn’t wait or come to a reasonable agreement for the resettlement of the villagers? I will be looking to name said developers as soon as I can confirm them.

The only good news is that the 23 people arrested earlier are now out on bail.
For further info, see the Malaysiakini report, if you want to know what the cops do with their time instead of sniffing out snatch thiefs, check out this video. When politikus and I drove by around 7.30 pm tonight, the truckloads upon truckloads of uniform personnel were just leaving. Looks like they spent the whole day there.
